The flagship beer of the Aloha Beer Company. Aloha Lager is our version of a European Continental Pilsner or a classic ‘green bottle’ beer. This light-bodied, straw colored lager features a mild bitterness and a dry, spicy finish. Pairs well with everything from seafood ceviche to a dinner steak.

12 oz bottle. From a grocery store in Honolulu, HI.
Cloudy golden color with a small white head. Unfreshness all over it... earthy and berry hops and sweetness in the aroma. Bad. The flavor is sweetness, mild berry hops and malt. Almost undrinkable.

Bottle: Slightly hazy yellow-gold with a thick white head. Wheat, lemon, grain aroma. Very sweet, corn malt taste with a mild, grassy bitter. Pretty awful.

Pours nice gold with thick white head. Aroma is sourdough yeast, is rather medium bodied for a lager, which is pleasant, but the flavors are kind of muddy with an unrefined mild hoppiness and weird sour maltiness.

Bottle. Sweet-sour corn malt and straw aroma. Bright golden yellow with large head. Sickly sweet corn syrup, malt, and straw flavor. Medium body. Not pleasant.

I hope this is skunked. If it isn't - shame on the beer maker. Wow. Draft at Mooses in Honolulu. Golden with white head. Smells carmely and shitty. Tastes worse than it smells. Not sure I can choke the whole glass down. But I will try

From bottle in Honolulu. Can’t really assess color or head. A bit shaken when I opened it, still has medium carbonation. Smells a bit skunky, wheat. Tastes light like a rice beer with a hoppy overtone and tastes of grass. Pretty much exactly what you’d want sitting on the balcony on a 25 degree evening.

Bottle from Food Pantry Waikiki 191214. Looks the goods but does little to hide the wet straw aroma and distinct pale lager flavour.

Bottle (at Hanalei Dolphin restaurant). Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal, grain), lightly hoppy (apricot), with notes of wort, canned fruit medley. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Bottles of this stuff are still all over Kaua’i (in restaurants and stores galore), so I’m kinda surprised to see this brewery listed as OOB. The website is still up, and although they haven’t posted to FB or Twitter in over a year, those profiles are technically still up too. But whatever...admittedly based on this dreck, there’s no reason they *should* be in business. Although it’s possible this is just something they made to appease swill drinkers who wanted fizzy yellow macro lager.
