The flagship beer of the Aloha Beer Company. Aloha Lager is our version of a European Continental Pilsner or a classic ‘green bottle’ beer. This light-bodied, straw colored lager features a mild bitterness and a dry, spicy finish. Pairs well with everything from seafood ceviche to a dinner steak.

Bottle from Food Pantry Waikiki 191214. Looks the goods but does little to hide the wet straw aroma and distinct pale lager flavour.

Bottle (at Hanalei Dolphin restaurant). Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal, grain), lightly hoppy (apricot), with notes of wort, canned fruit medley. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Bottles of this stuff are still all over Kaua’i (in restaurants and stores galore), so I’m kinda surprised to see this brewery listed as OOB. The website is still up, and although they haven’t posted to FB or Twitter in over a year, those profiles are technically still up too. But whatever...admittedly based on this dreck, there’s no reason they *should* be in business. Although it’s possible this is just something they made to appease swill drinkers who wanted fizzy yellow macro lager.

caramel, bread, golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, bitter. Thin in the mouth, a bit spicy at first on the tongue which quickly dissolves into bitterness. Looks and smells above average, tastes decidedly average. Disappointing overall.

Some hops but slightly stale aroma. Clear golden colour with little head. Not too bad, honey malt flavours. Light to medium body and med carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - unable to pour out of bottle, but definitely just a generic pale lager type beer, nothing special ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Well this beer doesn't deliver a whole lot... I have like a taste of citrus, spice. However as soon as it touches my younger I have flavor for like 1 second and it is gone that makes me sad cause I would rate higher if the flavor lasted longer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Asahiya. Light sweet malty nose. Clear bright straw color. Pleasant mild cookie-ish malty initial / very tame bittering in mid / light hop tracks in final. Thin-medium body. Surprisingly good -- or better than I expected it to be. Light and perhaps a tad too sweet.
