3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg, Southern Hospitality, 9th Avenue, Hell’s Kitchen, 20/02/14. Diaphanous pale blond with a rapidly shrinking white head. Aroma of not much; frozen apricot yoghurt, sherbet lemon. Decent crisp flowery taste with sherbet and spritz; restrained attempts at passion fruit. Wine gum and soda finish. Throwaway but pleasant with discreet citrus and botanical hop.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
A pale blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, crisp malt with grassy hops. In mouth, a pedestrian little number with crisp malt, faint hops, boring. On tap at Brooklyn Pour 2013.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Spitzer’s Corner, NY tap: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is light malts, a little bit of fruitiness, and a hint of grass. Taste is slightly sour, but mostly bready, with a slight hop undertone. An enjoyable enough session.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Location: Draft at Spitzer’s Corner, 12/29/12
Aroma: The nose has some yeast/wheat notes, a little citrus, and some pepper too
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear orange color with a lasting white head and mid-heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes medium sweet, with some noticeable pepper and wheat, and it finishes lightly bitter
Palate: This one has a light-medium body, with a fizzy carbonation, and a dryish finish
Good to see a new brewery pop-up in NYC (or atleast new to me, I’d never had any of their beers before). Welcome Alphabet City! As for the beer, this was a decent one. The flavor was different from my expectations from this style due to being kind of wheaty and peppery in addition to (or in place of) what you’d expect in a "Kolsch style beer" (as the description notes). Certainly worth trying.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[keg at Spitzer’s Corner, New York City] Clear as a bell, golden beer with a decent white head. Rising carbonation throughout. Soft, floral aroma with some peppery, spicy hop. Easy on the palate, which is no bad thing – well balanced floral hop and slightly bready malt. Good stuff

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2012 FIRST rating of this. On tap at the Whole Foods Pub. Light green pour. The head is full of tiny bubbles. This blonde seems to be a light weisse - mild and mellow, and good for the style.
