Ibrew2or3 (1648), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Feb 2, 2008 On tap @ the Liar’s Club in Alpine back in early 01/08. I guess they’ve been holding back this keg for some time and I was lucky enough to be there when they tapped it. Thanks Louis.
Pours completely black with lasting mocha ring of foam and spotty lacing. The aroma is three things varying in strength depending on the aromatic sample: sweet cherries, dark chocolate and wood mixed with sweet and roasty malts. Wow, nice. The taste begins with a quick rush of tartness that bleeds into sweet cherry fruitiness and red wine. Another flavor level running along with the fruit is a rich chocolate maltiness, faint burnt malts and a hodgepodge of various roasted malts. Everything is melded together seamlessly with a hint of wood just noticeable from time to time. Well crafted beer.
