DenverLogan (405), Oceanside, California, USA May 1, 2008 Oh yeah...they did this one right also...great overal flavor...easy drinking...it may be a straight lambic but it tastes fruity from the wine barrels...and funky...great for a twist on the style.
awaisanen (1098), Irvine, California, USA May 30, 2008 From a 375mL Bottle. Pale gold, mostly hazy body with a fleeting glimpse of head. Lightly acidic, musty aroma of lemon rinds and sauvignon blanc skins. Hints of peppery wood. Light bodied, nearly still mouthfeel with a thin texture and moderate acidity. Flavors are a bit acetic and vinegary with a dusty brett flavor. Lemon rinds and tart wheat crispness. Sour and vinous. Finishes dry, with a lingering tartness and hints of spicy oak. I’m not sure "clean" is the appropriate word for a beer like this, but the flavors are pretty much where I’d want expect them to be, making this a remarkable attempt at the style. Oakes (6771), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 26, 2008 Flat, yellowish and dull-looking. Lemony nose with some spiderwebs. Sweet front with a tart finish. Clean lactic. Gripping late acidity, perhaps lacking a bit of complexity. JorisPPattyn (4216), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 23, 2008 No head, orange beer with a metallic reflection. Very hard lambic nose, lactic, lemon, but also acetic, with some peeking phenols. Very lemony taste, some leathery Brett flavour. Tart as nothing else. Flat as a pancake - or an old lambic. Acidburn. In Belgium we would call this a harde lambic. But it is remarkably straightforward. badlizard (1364), San Diego, California, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle from brewery. Clear yellow with no head. Strong yellow aroma. Good tangy tart sour fruit taste with an oaky finish and some wine character lingering in the after taste. Very good.
