3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I keep seeing the word "thin" in these reviews. And that's what I'm going with.
A bit too sparkly going down, for a stout. Although I guess some might not mind this.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep burnt umber with a finger of khaki foam. The nose is roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of earthy coffee. The palate follows with a nice creamy milk chocolate base with hints of roasted malt, vanilla and coffee bitterness touches on the late palate. Solid offering and a very easy drinker.

i pickled the figs myself .. . deep brown .. medium head, lacing .. . chocolate malts, cooking chocolate, and festive christmas coffee your aunt once gave you .. . easy and very clean, nice simple stout .. . . If I can make it through an entire day without anyone noticing me, I reward myself with an ice cream sandwich.

11/19/13. 22oz bottle. Huge pop/hiss when opening the bottle - not a good sign. Confirmed with a teensy black pour underneath a thick tan head that takes up 90 of the glass. Infection seems imminent. Surprisingly tame aroma, chocolate, coffee, some cream, and the expected culprits. Really delicious flavor, lots of chocolate and coffee, extremely smooth and delicious. Extremely over carbonated. Confused on this one. Tastes great, super carbonated. Oh well. Chug a lug

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pour is black with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavor both of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, and cream. Kind of, lacking, not sure how to describe it besides saying it was boring.

On tap at Alpine, pours an amber-tinged with a small beige head. Aroma is very dry and toasty, like a typical Irish stout. Flavour brings out roasted malt, very dry toasty notes, and some woody notes. Thin bodied but nicely dry and toasty. Solid stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft - Chocolate bittersweet with the usual coffee that accompanies. Jet black with a thin brown head. Espresso, bitter chocolate and roasted malts. Pretty light body and the standard I would expect from the style.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle poured into a goblet. Pours a nice dark brown with a cream head and spotty lacing. Aroma is super buttery, not a flaw i’m used to in stouts. It overpowers anything else that might be there. Taste is butter, a bit of bitter cocoa. Almost feels grainy. Not enjoyable at all.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at brewery. Dark brown but thin around edges and in palate. Coffee and dark roast malt bitterness. Good but not worth seeking out special or wasting a drink on if you need to drive from brewery...save it for the IPAs.
