22oz bottle shared by Sliffy & Pud - Poured very dark brown almost black with a big tan creamy head. Aromas first of pine hops then behind that a good dose of chocolate, and a touch of coffee through much roastiness. Flavor was roasty with good chocolate and coffee notes and some nice pine hops at the back of each sip. A good hoppy stout that was well carbonated with a slightly astringent finish. I did enjoy this one much.

Aug 30, 2008 Tap at the brewery. Poured a nice dark black. Nice roasted malt aroma. Smooth flavor, very nice. Good everyday stout.

Aug 27, 2008 Bottle... Pours pitch black with a huge, frothy, light brown head. Decent retention. Creamy, chocolaty nose with hints of soy sauce and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. Chocolaty flavor... bittersweet. Finishes a tad burnt and ends up fairly dry.

Aug 14, 2008 Attractive deep brown pour with a full tan head. The nose os sweet and leather like. The flavor is astringent and overly sweet with a strange, sour finish that lingers.

Aug 14, 2008 On tap. Pours dark brown with tan head. Some lacing on the glass. Milk chocolate aroma, and very milk chocolate flavor, with a little roasted, sweet malt and a slight hop bitterness.

Aug 7, 2008 Bottle at RBSG 08 Grand Tasting. Black with a frothy cocoa head that leaves spotty lacing. Cocoa aroma with moderate roastiness. Bitter chocolate flavor with a metallic roasty finish. A little thin, but still very drinkable.
