COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Captain is leader of a fire crew. This beer takes charge of your taste buds with its rich flavor. Roasty malt character that has hints of chocolate and coffee which balances the smooth, velvety finish. The thick, creamy head lasts and lasts, leaving lace in your glass as your beer disappears. This beer pairs well with food. Great with dinner or as breakfast or even with a rich vanilla-bean ice cream.

Bomber from DaSilky1. Dark brown pour with medium head. Slight lace. Aroma of dark, lightly roasted malt; coffee and chocolate, some dark fruit and a little salty licorice and grassy hops. A bit watery. Finishes sweetly with fruit and malt.

Big and black on the pour. Nice head baby. Typical roasted beer aroma. Doesn’t seem thick and not viscous. Flat. Leathery feel to it. Taste is not infringing into the impy territory. Just a good overall stout this is. Not bad on the finish.

Black with minim gray white head. Light roast nose, with a touch of baking chocolate. The bitter roast is perfect in this, exactly what I want in a stout. Light caramel notes with the slight smokey chocolate.

Tap at the brewery. Pours black with a small, fizzy beige head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is roast malt, earthy spicy hops. Flavor is dark roast malt, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours black with a big tan head from tap. Aroma isn?t super strong. Burnt roasty. Doesn?t hit me as chocolate or coffee specifically. Taste is quite bitter at first but fades to a bitter chocolate towards the end. Really thin body and pretty bubbly. Atypical for sure. Not really my thing.

rake from last night enjoyed watching GOT. Pours the part with an ample khaki head that reduces to a light lacing cap that leaves a large trail. roasted malt nose. strong espresso taste, slightly bitter and astringent. Its pretty much perfect for a stout. Light to medium body with a lingering finish.

On tap at Falling Rock. Black appearance with a lacy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roast and earthy hops. Similar flavor. Rich, creamy and smooth with a medium body.

Tap at Apex, post CBC. Oh, Captain, my captain. A: Pitch black with a cappuccino head. Some lacing. N: Coffee, cocoa, roast, oats, hint of vanilla, dirt and pine. T: Sweet, lightly bitter, and oaty. M: Creamy, medium body with carbonation to match and no alcohol burn. O: Thick, creamy oatmeal stout. Doesn’t have the minerality of Sam’s Smith, and for that, I appreciate it more.

I like stouts... Wait no I like porters. Maybe I like both. I don’t know... But I digress, this is a stout. A perfect representation of a no frills roasty, chocolatey, stouty stout.
