pepsican (766), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA May 4, 2008 Pours pink with a thin white head. Very tart aroma with cherries underneath as well as butterscotch. Flavor was more tart cherries, butterscotch, and just the slightest bit of funk. Finished very acidic and refreshing. Very nice!
trokini (883), San Diego, California, USA Oct 15, 2008 Pours reddish copper, lots fo carbonation, and a flat white head. Vinuous cherry nose, some oak and malt, almost like a cherry cobbler. Pucker-type sour as opposed to the bretty-dank sour. Good blalance of the sour cherry and sweeter malt, tempered by the oak and vanilla flavors. A bit medicinal at times, but not enough to ruin the beer. Always a treat with Alpine. Odeed (1491), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 8, 2008 dusty rose in color with no head.aroma is slightly funky with some cherries, oak, and orange.flavor is the same with a slightly medicinal aftertaste that i did not care for. darkguardian (195), Florida, USA Oct 7, 2008 22oz bottle from Cheeseman at one our tastings (working through a backlog here). Pours a clodu pink with a funky puffy pink head. Tons of cherry taste with a slight sourness and nice notes of funk. A lot of oaky vanilla notes in this. I liked this more than most but its nowhere near as complex as some other sour ales from the west coast. IrishBoy (2165), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 6, 2008 750ml bottle shared by Odeed; Nose is lightly funky with tart cherries, and oaky woodiness; Clear dark pink with a small pink-tinged head; Flavor was cherries, light tartness balanced by light sweetness; not very tart, would be better tarter!
