4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the bottle. Nice golden color with a thin white head. Floral/citrus aroma that isn’t too overpowering. Excellent bitterness and a touch of citrus and hint of pine. Very clean finish and very easy to drink. Doesn’t taste like 7% ABV.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
My two favorite beers: Alpine’s Duet and Alpine’s Nelson (Rye IPA). In San Diego, we have an embarrassment of riches with 60+ micro and nano breweries. Still, these two have great aroma, palate, finish and bite.Long my favorties. Strong so bring it home if you can. Still, better on tap at Toronado, Ritual Tavern, Hamilton’s or O’Brien’s.

Bottle, pours a very nice clear gold. Tons of grapefruit and citrus aroma and taste, well balanced and even more citrus on the tongue.

Got in a trade with TopsecretWaffle. 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but should be very fresh. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, peach, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, honey, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness. Fantastic aromas with big tropical/citrus hop complexity with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of lemon zest, tangerine, orange zest, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, floral, grass, honey, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, mango, pineapple, peach, floral, honey, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity of citrus/tropical hops; with a good malt balance that doesn’t overpower the hops; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic IPA! Tons of big hop complexity and a moderate malt balance; and very smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Larry, nice light amber pour with a white head. Aroma of big citrus hops, malt and some caramel. Taste is very similar, citrus hops at the forefront, caramel sweet malt and extremely smooth finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours light orange with almost no head. Aroma is citrusy hops and just a wisp of pine. The flavor is refreshing and crisp. Light citrus and pine cone with a little yeast make up the flavor. I enjoyed this more than the Nelson.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from 22 oz bomber into pint glass. Beautiful clear gold with a white head that quickly dissipates to a thin wispy cap with nice lacing. Juicy aroma redolent of citrus and flower petals. The spicy bitter hoppiness is balanced wonderfully by a sweet malty backbone. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry. Overall a very well crafted ale that is worth the trouble tracking down!
