4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reynolds314 (758) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 16, 2011
My second Alpine beer of the night after the Pure Hoppiness. Next to that beer this one lacks a little, but next to 99% of IPAs out there this is perfection. I love how they get so much hop flavor into their IPAs. Im not a huge Simcoe fan but Amarillo is amazing and balances flavor-wise tremendously. Citrus and spruce are dominant.

Bottle thanks to ocbeersociety, huge hop aroma, pine, citrus, and dank. Huge similar hop flavors and alight bitterness with some hop flavors in the finish. Another home run by alpine!

Bottle, as pictured. Pours a pretty-clear golden yellow. Smells fantastic...tons of citrus and pine in it - big fan. Taste is actually less than I thought it’d be. I figured it’d be more flavorful, but it’s more just smooth than anything.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3381) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 5, 2011
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet pineapple, grapefruit, orange and caramel. The flavor was strong sweet pineapple and grapefruit, moderate orange and pine and a caramel undertone. The finish was long with lingering pineapple, grapefruit and orange. Full bodied and syrupy. Excellent.

I can’t believe I have yet to rate this. Oh wait, I haven’t really rated anything until the last year so yes I can believe it. Pours a much more yellow orange than the other standard Alpine IPAs. Taste is more subdued when compared to the DIPA and Nelson. Some level of cat urine, in the best way possible. Not as sweet as the others but the best change of pace. Love this beer.

(on draught at Alpine). Pours a clear golden color with a creamy white head. Aroma is caramel malts, citrus, resin and pine. Taste is sweet malts with a nice citrusy bitterness. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Pleasant bitter finish. Really great beer.

22 oz bottle from Tom in trade. Thanks a bunch! Pours a nice darker golden hue, filtered with no real haze, lively carbonation leaves a cakey offwhite head atop, huge, dies down but stays fairly thick. Solid lacing, golden orange fire. Aromas are a melange of citrus and tropical fruits, pairing into grass, florals, some dank weed like aromas, with some gumball, pale malts, and bread. A lot of fruity hops as it warms, playing well together. Initial is medium bodied, preaching a solid bitterness up front. Lemons, grapefruit, florals, and grass move into more fruity melon, gumball, and dancing tropical fruit as you get further in. A solid, above average bitterness with tasty fruity slant from the hops, not shying away from any bitterness though. Middle throws some soap and dry florals, grass mixing into some pale malts, bread easily covered up by a melange of hoppy fresh goodness. A touch of that dry bread comes back into play with the grass, florals, and soap. The finish leaves a good bitterness, lingering dry hops, resinous oils, dry bread as the fruit fades away a bit, letting the bitter hops attack and envelope the palate. Pretty nice fresh IPA that gave me a fairly complex experience, the fruit dying out a bit. Very nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 DeputyAndy (465) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 18, 2011
Draft @ toronado. Pours a clear amber. Very hoppy nose and flavor. Nice creamy texture to the beer. Almost sessionable. Very long palate, likes to linger on the tongue without the sticky pine flavor of more aggressive ipas.

Bottle sent from doodler, thanks Scott! P is a hazy golden sienna with a very thick and lasting white head. Nose is sweet flowery hops with light caramel. Taste is also mainly clean sweet hops. The beauty of this is the simple clean vibrance of it.
