Poured a clear amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was full of grapefruit hops. Candy notes and big caramel malt. Some butterscotch as the beer warmed. Caramel malty flavor with grapefruity citrus and a malty base. Great balance.

I had this at O’Brien’s in San Diego. Very strong taste of grapefruit with a hint of orange peel. Bitter start and finish. Weak lingering taste. Not much head. Medium yellow color. Still very good.

Pour is nice golden yellow with a small dense white head...smell is like a grapfruit and soap punch in the face...flavor is strongly hop dominant (shock)...small biscuit flavors at first, but just pine and grapefruit bitterness in the finish...

Tap, O’Brien’s. Pours medium golden in color. Very skunkesque hoppy aroma. Very bitter and piney. Moderate bitterness up front. Goes into a very herbal bitterness towards the finish.

Draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Very nice head toped this deep golden glass. Aromas were citrus hops, and a bit more in the light fruit catagory such as peaches. Flavors were very similar with a really nice malt backbone that finished with a wonderful hop presence. Very tasty

On cask @ O’Brians in San Diego. This beer seemed meant for the cask. Rich and creamy with a solid hop flavor and gentle bitterness. There was just enough malt sweetness to balance the flavorful hops. I do not normally order the same beer twice, but in this case I felt obligated.

On tap at Downtown Johnny Brown’s in San Diego. Slightly orangey-gold in color with a thin white head. Aroma of spruce? Flavor is definitely piney and spruce-like. Hoppy citrus smells abound, but I also get a meaty aroma in there. Tastes like pot! The green Yakima valley hops are very strong and fresh in this one. Truly a flavoring hop use and an aroma balance. Surprising quickness to the finish of such a strongly bittered beer. Love it.

This beer was on tap at Liar’s Club. The aroma had citrus, grapefruits, oranges, pine, and light malt notes. The beer poured an orangish yellow color with slight head and slight lasting lacing. The flavor had pine, grapefruits, oranges, citrus, light malts, and a hint of pineapple. The mouthfeel was light and very crisp, with a nice bitter. Tasty.
