Type: Draft Glass: 12-oz. pint glass From: Alpine Beer Company in Alpine, Calif. Price: $5.50 (I think) Misc.: Had on Jan. 5, 2012 Poured a caramel amber color with two fingers (when I got it) of white head. A perfect amount of lacing on the side all the way down and good retention on the top all the way down. Smelled tons of delicious bitter hops right up front. Got grapefruit, lemon, tangerine and orange peel. Tasted tons of hops like the smell. Citrus grapefruit was leading the way, but also got tastes of pine, resin, floral, tropical and mango. Light-to-medium body. Oily-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish. Just a fantastic IPA, probably the best one I’ve ever had. Absolutely loved it.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is fragrant floral and pine hops, pear and apricot esters with straw and cereal malt. Flavor is malt forward with medium hops and bitterness, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Poured a light amber color. Looked very light for an IPA. Smelled of pine and citrus but it also had a little skunky aroma. Tasted of the same, but had a bitter bite that went away quickly. The carbonation level was pretty high.

Puts a thin looking light amber with a snowflake white head. Aromas of Spanish clementines, fresh squeeze grape juice, pure bliss. First sip reveals a cornucopia of mango nectar, hoppy citrus, nectar of the gods. No residual sugar left here, just a blissful kiss from the hops accompanied by the backing of a concrete malt backbone. This is amazing. Inspired. Hell, this beer inspires me. My Christ, this is probably the best IPA I’ve ever had.

22oz bottle, unknown date. Served at around 45F.

Pours clear amber with a one-finger white head that leaves some spots of lacing and recedes to a wispy foamy cap.

Aroma is some pine, citrus rind, grapefruit/orange, some pineapple, a bit of tropical fruit, decent amount of caramel malt. Good strength.

Flavor is resinous hops, some citrus, good pine, a bit of tropical fruit, sizeable caramel malt backbone in the middle, mild sweetness, mild to moderate bitterness, some alcohol at the finish.

Mouthfeel is medium-plus bodied, very oily, somewhat sticky, mild to moderate carbonation.

I dunno if this is a little old or what, but kind of let down on this one. For as much praise as Duet receives, I’ve just got a little above-average IPA here.

Golden with small white head. Nice sweet fruity aroma. Taste is a bit fruity and bitter with a strange vegetal finish.

Bottle. Pours clear light amber with a large white head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, a bit of some tropical fruit. Flavor is about the same with a touch of caramel, lightly sweet, light bitterness throughout. Medium body with an oily texture.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, and well worth the trip from downtown on my final night in Seattle. Pours pale coppery orange with no head. No lacing - a lighter apple cider look. Aroma is pretty close to heaven; fresh fruit, pine, citrus in a lovely succulent blend. Taste has sweet fruit, pine needles, bitter citrus. A hint of malt. A fruity, lightish, super smooth blend. Gets more bitter thru the glass. Finishes bittersweet about medium length. A wonderful easy drinker.

Bottle at Dadtoberfest. Pours gold with a white head. Pine, lighter fruity notes, with a pale and sweet malty base. Good, not great.
