650ml bottle. It pours a deep gold with hints of orange and a foamy white head. The smell is unique for an IPA I think and I really enjoy it. There is a lot of tropical fruit, specifically papaya, which I hate the taste of but love the smell of. It has this deep vinous characteristic with white grapes. This smell goes perfectly with the warm weather outside. The flavor is just refreshing and thirst-quenching. Tons of green grapes in the flavor along with tropical fruit hints with pineapple and passion fruit, and an assload of citrus. I love these two hops, just love em. There isn’t too much acidity though which lends it to being even more spectacular. The malt backing is subtle and the bitterness is medium. I have had single hop brews of both of these varieties, but put them together and you get this absolute beast. On tpa it is like drinking fruit juice, a beer with almost no equal.

Pours a slightly clear golden yellow. Small head and little spotted lacing. Aromas of pineapple, grapefruit, cocoa, vanilla, molasses, resinous and juicy hoppy. Tons of simcoe and ammarillo hops present. Taste is a juicy cherry hop bite, with vanilla and wood notes. Amazing beer.

Aroma is orange and other citrus. Low carbonation with a clear golden color. Taste is perfect with a great balance of hops and malt back. This one of the best IPA's I've ever tasted. Finish leaves you craving the next swallow. Craftsmanship at its finest. Tasted out of a bomber brought back from SD. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 22oz bottle, bright amber color withe small white head. Aroma is grapefruit, floral, citrus, tangerine, maybe apricot, but there is a slight hint of malt in the background. The taste is wonderful. Not heavy or thick initially. Great tropical twang, bitterness is balanced with malts. To be so tasty, this one is really light. Amazing. This is one of my favorite IPAs. If you get the chance, try this beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Floral and citrus aroma. Pours clear golden with a perfect head. This is a perfect IPA for every day. 7% ABV is strong but not too much to handle.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2012 Re-rate. My original rating for this beer was recorded during a sloppy-seconds afternoon at the Pizza Port Real Ale Festival many years ago...and therefore not representative of the true malt beverage glory that is bestowed upon this fine nectar of the gods! I can’t fathom how many growlers of this I have gone through, alongside Nelson perhaps one my favorite IPAs all-time. Granted everytime I have this beer it is either a growler fill direct from the brewery or on tap at the Alpine pub, it never fails me. Always crisp, refreshing, and damn hoppy. Like any great beer, words will not do it justice. Pat, Sean and friends at Alpine have truly mastered the India Pale Ale above all others in the craft brewing industry. Makes me damn proud to live in a city with such great brewing talent.

Puts a thin looking light amber with a snowflake white head. Aromas of Spanish clementines, fresh squeeze grape juice, pure bliss. First sip reveals a cornucopia of mango nectar, hoppy citrus, nectar of the gods. No residual sugar left here, just a blissful kiss from the hops accompanied by the backing of a concrete malt backbone. This is amazing. Inspired. Hell, this beer inspires me. My Christ, this is probably the best IPA I’ve ever had.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a super large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of pure lupuline with floral notes of citrus and grapefruit. Taste is also dominated by some of the most delicate floral hops aromas I have encountered with fresh citrus notes. Malt base is dry and although discernable doesn’t take away any attention from the hops profile. Body is about average with good carbonation. Those guys are probably my favorite IPA brewers.
