4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Brouwerís Cafe, and well worth the trip from downtown on my final night in Seattle. Pours pale coppery orange with no head. No lacing - a lighter apple cider look. Aroma is pretty close to heaven; fresh fruit, pine, citrus in a lovely succulent blend. Taste has sweet fruit, pine needles, bitter citrus. A hint of malt. A fruity, lightish, super smooth blend. Gets more bitter thru the glass. Finishes bittersweet about medium length. A wonderful easy drinker.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle thanks to Chris for sharing. pours out a golden/copper topped with a white head. Nose is great lots of floral, citrus hops along with some sweetness. Taste is as the nose with a great hop mix and a nice balance of malts. This was another great Alpine beer.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
A- Pours a sunset orange hue with a thick, frothy 2 finger head. A perfect example of the style.
S- Smells grapefruity, citrus, earthy notes with buttery diacteyl undertones.
T- Very buttery, possibly infected. Citrus and light fruits break through but canít make up for the butter.
M- Medium carbonation, medium viscosity.
D- It was a great beer to look at but the buttery notes ruined it. Iíd be willing to rerate to see if it was a bad bottle.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle thanks to lukasz. Nose is full of pine and dankiness. Kind of earthy nose too. Pours a fairly clear light yellow. Small white head. Taste is full of hop flavor that is almost tropical. Slightly piney flavors. Very smooth. A light crisp grainy malt profile. This is just way too drinkable. Now I like Amarillo again.

Bottle thanks to GT2! Sampled 3/16. Pours a clear amber/gold, minimal lacing. Aroma is pleasant pine, tropical fruit, apricot nectar. Taste is balanced mango, grapefruit, pine, juicy pear, malt sweetness. Delicious, but I prefer Nelson.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: Golden copper and clear. Big off-white head good retention and lacing.
S: Earthiness, pine and caramel upfront. Vague grapefruit and citrus. Was expecting an explosion of aroma, but not quite.
T: Caramel malt upfront. Sturdy bitterness that follows throughout, some piney notes, light citrus and sweetness that fades into a dry finish.
M: Medium bodied, well carbonated. Nice minor sweetness upfront but drys up at the end, love my IPAís dry.
O: Overall nicely refreshing. Was looking for a more assertive hop flavor and aroma, but all in all an easy to drink and refreshing beer.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from bottle. Very clear yellow/orange with snow white head. Could keep nose in glass all day with aroma. Upfront is woodsy but quickly turns tropical. Left over is a mouthful of sweet citrus dryness that lasts forever.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
MANY thanks to TasterMike for this one! 22 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear golden amber color. The head is a one finger white shade thatís relatively soapy, yet consistent and dense. Retention is quite solid, and so is the lacing left behind.
S: Oh yeah, thatís the stuff. This brings the hops in a fantastic manner - it doesnít bring any significant biting pine notes, rather itís mostly stuff like melon, mango, and grapefruit. The bready malts come through enough...and I do mean íenoughí. Which is to say itís quite faint, but not nonexistent.
T: Oh yeah, thatís the-- wait, I wrote that down already. Nevermind, this just works brilliantly. The first few sips have a decent malt backbone sandwiched by a fruity opening and a mildly bitter finish. Right after the swallow, itís very reminiscent of fruit juice. People who say that an IPA canít/shouldnít be balanced need to try this - the hop flavor, the bitterness, and the malt backbone are in perfect harmony with one another. If this uses crystal malt - and I think I can taste hints of its toffee qualities buried in here - I may have to drop my petty grudge towards it, because this beer is fantastic.
M: I donít really notice the low carbonation or medium body too much - itís so dry (in all the right ways) that it still goes down with superb ease. Malt sweetness builds very slightly on the aftertaste, but itís not bothersome by any means.
O: Holy frig, this is like Sculpin on steroids. Ergo, itís now in my top 5 list for IPAs. This is the kind of beer that makes me want to move to San Diego just so I can consume this like water.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong floral and pine hop. Thin mouthfeel with light bitter pine hop and nice light bitter finish. Very impressive.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from a box labeled 1/27, so potentially a 3 day old beer. And man does it taste like it! A very interesting and delicious IPA, West Coast flair but very smooth. Not so much hop bitterness as real hop flavor, the Amarillo and Simcoe are showcased right up front -- lovely. Citrus and caramel sweetness but not at all cloying. Distinguished and memorable. Grab it if you see it, I think many who donít typically love West Coast IPAs would still enjoy this one.
