4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 drunkenpolack (319) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 24, 2012Old Review from 2009 - Duet pours a deep amber color. Very little head is poured. Smell is just out of this world. Raw and powerful Simcoe and Amarillo. Tons of citrus and pine attack your nostrils with a good amount of malt to give it a nice bready malty background. At first the beer is very rough and raw in the taste department. Just piney hops everywhere. Like you’re chewing on pine needles. As you let the beer warm up a tad this beer just becomes out of this world. The piney hops are still there and they are big but the fruit comes through and the mixture is just amazing. Tropical fruit and citrus. It’s just juicy. This beer is like a magician. It’s full of raw hop flavor but remains balanced and so drinkable. Words cannot describe some of the tastes you get from this brew. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp and smooth.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Rando7 (609) - Iowa, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Bottle pours clear light gold with one finger white head. Hoppy aroma with citrus and resin. Flavor initial sweet malts with citrus and slight bitterness coming in. Medium body and carbonation. Finish slightly dull bitterness.
Overall a simple IPA done really well.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bestbrew1 (46) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Mouthfeel is probably my favorite thing about this beer. It is one of Alpines more malty beers. So if you like malt then you’ll love this one. It is one of a kind and another solid beer by Alpine.

Pours straw like in color with thin white head. Aromas of strong pungent hops, floral and mild citrus. Flavors of citrus and a mild bitterness with a smooth, balanced finish.

Had this from a growler. Strong hops, bitter finish...overall not my favorite, but not a bad brew to sip on a warm afternoon...
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 madvike (2077) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Bottle shared by Smith in the GTMW line - Pours clear golden with a soapy white head. Nose is soapy, dank hops, fruity with a bit of savory, spicy hops on the finish. Tastes bigger than an IPA, boozy and warm, with lots of stinky dank onion/garlic hops. Fluffy and pretty full-bodied. Tasty, tasty stuff.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 tricyclist (444) - Spring Hill, Florida, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Sample pour of deep good with a decent white head that dissipates quickly. Nose is sharp hops, plenty of citrus, especially grapefruit.... And Parmesan cheese? Great flavor of plenty of hops and citrus, super juicy. Nice all the way!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 cbfobes (1672) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle shared in the GTMW ticket line, pours a clear golden with a white head and lacing in the glass, the aroma is of fresh hops and citrus notes, pretty pungent aroma, the flavor has a nice clean front end with citrus in the finish, nice grapefruit and tropical notes coming through, mouthfeel is pretty smooth, seemed a little bit bigger than 7%, pretty good.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 knickskicks (496) - - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle. Golden, thin white head with nice lacing. Nose is bready malts, citrus fruits, fresh hops, earth. Taste is fresh hops, light citrus fruits, bready malts--much more malt balance than I expected. Watery, low carbonation. Dry bitter finish.

Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a pale golden color with a white head. The aroma was of bright sweet orange peel hoppiness. The taste was of hops with red grapefruit juice, candied orange peel and apricot jelly. Very well done.

Big bottle in a tulip. Pours slightly murky amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma strong of citrusy and resinous hops plus a good amount of pale malts. Flavor the same with a strong hoppiness all the way through. Average texture. A great IPA.
