Commercial Description:
The Most Dangerous Beer In America" as voted on at O'Brien's Pub in San Diego. This Double IPA is double dry-hopped and double strong. The same complex brewing techniques used on Pure Hoppiness are used and taken even further. A stronger version of the Pure Hoppiness is how this beer starts, with the multiple kettle hop additions, the jam-packed hop back and the incredible amount of dry hops. Then, the beer is transferred into another tank with a "body-bag" sized hop-bag full of hop cones and oak chips. There it ages even longer and mellows, disguising the alcohol content, thus producing "The Most Dangerous Beer in America." Another Season Specialty (Aug. to Sept.) 10.5% ABV

Handbottle. Thanks to Cbkschubert for sending me this one. Poured a dark orange body with nice head. Hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, some other spices as well. Flavor is sweet with hops and a really nice malty backbone to it. Decent carbonation and a thick syrupy mouthfeel. Overall this was really smooth and could not believe it was 10.5%, was not even tasted. This is a great IIPA.

Growler shared by hopsleeroy. Thanks a ton dude!
Pours a clear orang color with a light white head. SMell is sweet and fruity, juicy hops and very herbacious with some basil and mint. Very fresh smelling and quite nice and unique. Taste is hoppy, fruity and very mild bitterness, but with huge hoppy unique flavors of mint and basil like hops. Incredibly easy to drink, and no sign of the 10.5% ABV at all. One of the better beers I’ve ever had. Awesome.

Growler thanks to hopsleeroy on BA. Thanks Lee! Pours clearish golden with a white head that leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Smell is huge perfume-like hop aroma like fresh hop cones, a slight herbaceous smell and some slight vanilla/oak. Huge, sweet hoppy flavor. Fresh hops and pine cones all over the flavor. Vanilla and dry oakiness as well. So easy to drink this one, I could hardly tell it was 11%. Basically it was like squeezing juice right out of the hops into my mouth.

Thanks to Ken for this one. Clear gold color, a white head with good retention. Aroma has lots of awesome spicy flowery hops, a slight citrus sweetness in the back, and pineapple. flavor is not overly bitter, lots of tropical fruits, and a bit of an earthiness.

Growler, courtesy of wetherel. Thanks, John! Pours a clear, tarnished copper color; creamy, light tan head with great retention and textured lacing, coating the glass; very nice pour. Loads of tropical fruits, oily tree fruit hoppiness, and no astringency in the aroma; passion fruits and lime; gorgeous nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of oily, sweet tropical fruits, passion fruit, lime, and dripped tree fruits; gorgeous, clear, resiny hop character; no astringency; my favorite type of IIPA. Gorgeous, hop-forward and clearly expressed. Lengthy finish: toasted malts, passion fruits, and tree fruits.
