growler shared by I forget who in line at the port anniversary party....great nose of grapefruity and piney hops and the flavor is much the same with the great interplay with the malts perfect balance...just a tad bit below pliney inmy opinion .....damn good job though pat!

Jul 1, 2008 This was delicious, absolutely no way around it. One of the best DIPAs I have ever tried. Pours a hazy orange coloring, with that beautiful unfiltered look, and just reeks ( In a wonderful way) of pure hop juice. Has that skunky resin nose, with lots of citrus fruits running the gamut. Nice acidity and bitterness does a number on your palate, almost stings a bit, but the alcohol is really well masked. Loads of fruit and an unbalanced malt background, but at this point you are not thinking about that and enjoying the hop overload.

May 29, 2008 A top of the line DIPA and a welcomed sight at our last tasting. Brought to us in a growler that was just poured a day or two earlier. It’s a pleasure to enjoy a beer like this because it reminds you how good a DIPA can be. So many are passed off as this style and they just simply aren’t, no matter how good intentions there were to create one. Not only did Alpine succeed, they succeeded on a high level.
The beer poured out of the growler a beautiful orange color, a creamy one-finger thick head with a complex hop attack of tropical fruits, pine resin, citrus peel and marijuana. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel..no harshness at all. Flavors just explode with hoppy goodness. It’s really not for the faint of heart. Juicy tropical fruits combined with the piney power of the hop and the resiny goodness that comes from it just really does cartwheels on the tongue. There’s a good bit of sweetness to counter the bitterness in this beer, but make no mistake...the hops are the star of this show and they should be. Highly recommended and a pleasure to drink.

May 26, 2008 Hazy straw colour. Deep rich citrus, wood with light tropical fruit. Such monster hops. Astringent, extreme hops on the palate. Bone dry. Unbalanced, this pushes past my limits but I’m sure there’s an audience for bitter cantaloupe juice.

May 15, 2008 Growler from seaoflament (Thanks Carlos!) Really liked this one, from the caramel smooth and floral hoppiness in both nose and flavor.

May 9, 2008 On tap at Liar’s club, Alpine. Pours a very hazy amber wit a small white head and lacings. Bitter with lots of grapefruity hops aromas... and then some. Also some alcohol notes. Very bitter finish. X-treme on the hops... kind of one sided though.
