Otown Throwdown III. Original Pumpkin version shared by Dsnowden. Pours a woody amber with a thinning filmy head. Aroma is slight funk almost pedio cherry pie mixed with pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon nutmeg, clove and even some vanilla hints, earthy, leather and some funk. Flavor is sour and funky pumpkin, cinnamon, almost a prickly earthy spice and phenol in the end, mostly dry,, light tartness and a bit medicinal. Still pretty wild and good.

Bomber. Pours a very murky mahogany with little to no head. What there is just sits on top of the beer, floating like soapwater film. Aroma is of brett-spiked sourness, a touch of coffee and caramel. Taste is very nice and sour. Blossoms quickly into full green apple bursts, followed by a mellowing tart flavors. Body is full and palate is lasting. A good one.

bottle thanks to either Texasjeep or zinister at October Houston Tasting. Pours black with an off-white head. Nose is of faded cinnamon and pumpkin. Taste is also of cinnamon and pumpkin. Fizzy medium-thin mouthfeel. Past it’s prime. Did not like much.

Bottle:   Dark brown, cola hues around the edges, thing sudsy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Faint spicy nose, cinnamon and nutmeg.   Moreso I get some cardboard or heavy paper.   If this is supposed to be a Dunkleweizen, it seems as if this beer is broken.   Rather dull on the tongue.   A wheaty like maltiness, but not too heavy nor too bright.   Spices are subdued.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes rather flat, minimal spices.   It has a smidgen of sourness to it, as well as being a bit dry.   This one seems to be a bit past its prime.   Glad I was able to try it, but its not really Dunkel, nor Wheaty, nor very spicy.   Even gets to be a bit buttery after the finish.   Thanks Tim for the bottle!

Pours an impenetrable rich mahogany, witha huge tan head. Great retention rate and great lacing. Aromas of spices hit me first, some nutmeg and clove. Very sweet dark wheat malts in the nose. Slight funk and sourness in the nose. It has a great funked flavor, not really a dunkelweizen flavor. I get some roasted grain, very yeasty. Wonderful flavors of cinnamon and clove. I get a lot of funk, not sure if it should be there, but its good. A little chewy with all the flavor. Medium to light bodied, a fair amount of carbonation. Good brew over all but a little thin.

Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a dark brown to black color with thin white-tan head. Aroma is sweet, malty and full of molasses, honey, caramel and ripe dark fruit notes. Flavor is malty and sweet as well with notes of pumpkin, ripe dark fruit, prunes, molasses, hints of spice and light floral hops. Generally medium body with a pleasing finish.

Bottle, courtesy Ibrew2or3. Dark reddish brown color with tan highlights, creamy head and minimal lacing. Roasted coffee nose, pumpkin, spices, some popcorn, peanut butter, and distant allspice. Flavor starts with a dry roasted pumpkin touch and an interesting creamy bourbony finish. Smooth, drinkable, very interesting.

Tap at O’Brien’s. Pours light red/orange. Small off white head. Smell is strange. Cinnamon, nutmeg, fig and pepper. Taste comes on strong. Pumpkin and nutmeg mingle with a strange pepper background. Slight hop bitterness also is there. A little to heavy with the spices and not to good. Rating is from 05.
