2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JohnC (2910) - Mission Viejo, USA - JUL 5, 2003
Thanks to xlperro for this brew:
Appearance: Mandarin Nectar looks remarkably like a pilsener. It has a yellow/gold color and a large, frothy, white head.
Aroma: The aroma was slightly earthy. I certainly could not detect the presence of mandarins or coriander. This was disappointing.
Flavor: A clean soft taste with a slight hint of mandarin.
This is definitely a thirst quencher, but I was expecting a bit more flavor.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 corby112 (1904) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Draft at the brewpub.
Pours a clear, dark golden yellow color with a half finger white head that quickly settles into a thing ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Sweet citrus aroma with subtle spiciness and pale malts. Lots of orange peel along with apricot and other light fruits countered by some zesty coriander and bready yeast.
Medium bodied with a good balance of zesty spice, citrus sweetness and bready yeast. Not overly spicy or dominant/overpowering in any area. Really well balanced with honey sweetness, orange and apricot countered by spicy pepper and coriander notes. Not overly complex but flavorful and very quaffable.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OldGrowth (1859) - North Carolina, USA - APR 25, 2012
Bottle from brewery. Good aroma, sweet. Orange, little yeasty doughy scent. Clean golden orange color, small head, minor lace, sweet flavor. Lite body, thin creamy mouthfeel, sweet clean finish. Not overwhelming fruit. Easy to drink. Not getting much coriander. Tad high abv for lawn mowing
Be fun to pair up with food...
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Peacehammer (239) - California, USA - MAR 27, 2012
pours a clear dark orange, with a one finger foamy head. Sweet aroma, with some orange like notes and coriander. Very light body, with fruity sweetness. It’s a decent beer, but nothing amazing.

22oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Emeline. How did this manage to be my 2600th beer? Oh lord. Somehow, all the zesting and spicing fell a little flat at first. Generalized orange in the nose. Clean and citrus. I didn’t get much coriander out of it, and I appreciate that. Lively. The depth wasn’t there, but this works as an orange-y beer.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Blairgus (1185) - California, USA - MAR 16, 2012
16 mar 2012, bottle. Yellow, clear, some bubbles. Maybe some slight orange peel aroma, earthy/straw aroma. Med/thin body and fizzy. tangerine peel and straw malt. Not a big fan.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ngeunit1 (802) - Mountain View, California, USA - MAR 6, 2012
A - Pours an almost clear amber-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind a bit of lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet malts with some honey, orange zest, and some light spice. There is a touch of floral smells as well.
T - Starts off with some orange and other citrus with some floral flavors and some light honey. Through the middle, some light spice and some sweeter honey. The finish is a mix of orange peel, honey sweetness, and some sweet malts.
M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet honey finish.
D - Very drinkable. Super sessionable. On the light side but still has some good flavors and very nice balance.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 socaltay (195) - Ventura, California, USA - MAR 4, 2012
A nice well balanced beer. The flavor was a bit underwhelming compared to their other offerings. nice orange zest qualities lend a certain juiciness to the beer while the coriander simply brings the honey and orange flavors together. decent beer, not great

Mandarin Nectar pours a light orange color with a finger sized fizzy head. Smell is kind of bland. Bready malt backbone, small amounts of orange, honey, and coriander. The description they give is kind of misleading
“ Like a mountain breeze through the citrus trees.”
I really wouldn’t go that far. Maybe if you have a cold during the time that the mountain breeze comes through =)
The taste is pretty much like the smell but the orange comes through a little bit more here. The bready malt is still there and so is the honey which gives off a little bit of sweetness. It’s all rounded out with a little bit of spice.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, crisp, dry, and refreshing.
