3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours light gold with a soapy white head. Aroma is soap, citrus, pine, And light fruit. Taste follows the nose and has a bit of an odd aftertaste. This beer is a bit too light and I was expecting a bit more.

Bottle pours clear yellow with one finger white head, a little cloudiness at the bottom of the bottle. Nice citrus and pine aroma. Clean and crisp citrus taste with piny finish. I do notice a little rye and malt sweetness. Palate a bit thin. Very drinkable beer, actually very hoppy but not overbearing.

Clear yellow pour. My daughter accused me of drinking lemonade and not sharing. Crisp and hoppy, very west coast more spruce and pine hops than most others. Slight citriusy. Medium bitterness but easy drinking.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of fruity and citrusy hops with a little white wine (as the label says) plus some pale and caramel malts. Flavor the same, with a really interesting hoppiness from these hops. Average texture. A really good IPA, but different from most.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at Alpine.
Aroma: huge dose of floral hops, dank citrus, crisp light malts, pine, super refreshing.
Appearance: slightly hazy light yellow pour, white head with average retention, some spotty lacing.
Taste: excellent hop flavors, bold orange and grapefruit, a bit of pine, wow. Bitterness is medium, and fades fairly quickly to leave the hop flavors to shine. Just enough light malts for some balance, hints of cracker, a kiss of malt sweetness gives way to a clean and dry finish.
Palate: light/medium body, medium carbonation, exceedingly smooth.
Overall: really an amazing IPA, clean, tons of aromatic and flavorful hops, bone dry finish.

This and Duet are my two favorite beers in the world. Alpine has a magic formula that always adds up. There is legend about this and that but it is all BS. Fireman Pat just has a knack for making good brews. He runs a small shop, keeps it that way on purpose and the results are magnificent. Some of the more Hoppy varieties are snapped upon EBay and sent cross country. I am fortunate enough to live 30 miles away and have a couple of growlers that I pack whenever I head to the mountains to camp or just for a hike. I return with fresh Alpine beer. Get it if you can and drink it fresh.
