Ibrew2or3 (1705), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jan 14, 2008 On tap @ San Diego Brewing brewpub. Pours a clear deep gold with lasting wisp of a white head. The aroma is big and in your face with copious amounts of fresh grapefruit hops and a decent backbone of malts and then a bit of spice hops. Excellent tasting IPA. Yum. It begins with a rush of grapefruit hops that are both bitter and sweet and they seem to be growing more and more bitter as the taste moves forward. A tasty level of malts is also there to play against the hop flavor and bitterness. Well balanced example of the classic West Coast IPA.
AgentSteve (757), Livermore, California, USA Jun 8, 2008 Taverner proves his dedication to the cause by smuggling this growler into Chuck E. Cheese’s at his sons birthday party for us to enjoy. And enjoy we did! Pour has a thick, three fingered, cream colored head with a pine and floral hop nose along with a smooth, sweet caramel malt that appropriately carried into the very smooth, well balanced flavor. A bit sweet in the front that diminishes to a dry, hoppy mid and finish. Smooth and a bit creamy on the palate Very nice. Taverner (440), San Ramon, California, USA Jun 8, 2008 Could not ask for a better IPA for my birthday! Pours clear amber with lots of frothy head. Very creamy on the palate. Flavor is dank, spicy and piney hops with a very dry malt profile. The hops carry in your mouth for quite some time, giving it a slightly bitter yet spicy finish. sunevdj (1384), Copenhagen, Denmark May 9, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear golden with an off white head. Quite bitter with fruity hops aromas... Hints of apple. Medium carbonation. Full bodied. Bitter finish. Nice hopsprofile.
