Pours thick and black with a large brown head. The nose is vanilla, chocolate, brown sugar, toffee, cherries, coffee and peaches. The taste is heavy medium sweet and medium. Near perfect balance. The texture is like chocolate cream, the body is heavy and finish is long! Amazing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Cheers to thome for this. Peppery spice and chocolate on the nose. Almost salty. Dark fruits show themselves. Unusual nose but works. Salty vanilla bourbon in the taste with bitter chocolate and dark plummy fruits. Not great balance but it all works well together. Solid beer

Bottled. The aroma is of bourbon, little oak, light chocolate, full-bodied and creamy with prickly carbonation. The flavor opened with tangy, peppery bourbon and oak, with warm, roasted sweeter chocolates, maple, and vanilla. Was an extremely pleasant experience.

Bottle shared thanks to Ben. Pours opaque black with just a trace of fizzy tan head. Aroma is roasted and chocolate malts, plums, raisins, vanilla, oak, bourbon, floral hops, light caramel, and light yeast. Flavor is roast malts, earthy and floral hops, and heavy dark fruit esters; bourbon and vanilla undertones throught with a dry, lightly boozy finish. Full body and low carbonation.

Bottle (22 oz). Traded by dsgolovin, thanks David! Dark brown (almost black) with a thin beige head. Aroma is boozy with bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is sweet with roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, chocolate and dark fruits. Slight bitterness. Alcohol isn’t hidden at all... really boozy. Mouthfeel is oily, dry and there’s a lot of roasted bitterness. Not so complex brew, but still an interesting sipper... not easily drinkable, even for a bourbon barrel Imperial Stout.

Bottle shared by mdfb79. Thanks Dan. The beer is dark brown with a lasting beige head that leaves a nice sheet of lacing on the glass. The aroma brings roasted malt, chocolates. Smells like a porter. The aroma is pleasant, though I don’t detect a lot of the bourbon character. Light bourbon in the taste, along with a tasty chocolaty roast character. Medium bodied with solid carbonation. Overall, very good. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-03-2012
