JoeTheYounger (219), California, USA Nov 7, 2009 Bottle compliments of DaleHarshman. Fruity aroma with some dried pineapples and some gourd squashness. Very interesting aroma similar to fake blood (corn syrup). Pours a cloudy orange color with nice small head. Flavor of citrus hops with small malty backbone. Nice texture and balance though. Very easy to drink. pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Nov 2, 2009 Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a mostly clear light copper color with a small white head. Nice aroma of citrus hops, light sweet malts, maybe a little bit of caramel. Taste is of tangy citrus hops, light caramel malt and maybe some pine showing up in there also on the hop front. Well balanced and very easy drinking. Very well done. zizzybalubba (338), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Nov 2, 2009 22 oz. bottle from South Bay Drugs. Dark orange pour; medium foamy off-white head. Enticing caramel, pine, and grapefruit aroma. Taste is great but a little less than I was expecting given the aroma. While I don’t mind bitterness this one led me to believe it was going to be more balanced. The hops are a bit on the piney side. It’s really a minor complaint in what is really an extraordinary beer. dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Nov 2, 2009 22 oz bomber thanks to double0. Poured a deep dark burnt orange with an average sized soapy right white head. Aroma is really nice with a good dose of honey and caramel sweetness blended in with lots of citrus hops. Full creamy mouthfeel with a very bitter slightly dry finish. The flavor is similar to the aroma with lots of citrusy hops and caramel sweetness but it’s not qjuite as good as the aroma. A very solid DIPA, really nice stuff. BobbyAnalog (19), California, USA Oct 15, 2009 A bold, proudly rich foundation of hops and maltiness. The color is of that of tan nouget, with an aroma that packs a noteworthy wallop. Pure Hoppiness is a sipping beer, who proudly wears its title as being a thick, comfort food. jcr (1137), Jasper, Indiana, USA Oct 12, 2009 Bomber. Clear golden body. Fizzy. white head, mostly diminishing. Hoppy aroma of resin, pine, orange peel with hints of grain and dough. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly sweet, moderately acidic and heavily bitter. Its finishing taste is bitter grapefruit. Medium body, watery/smooth texture, lively carbonation. Nice, West coast, hoppy IPA with lots of resin and grapefruit, but not as complex nor as interesting as a Hopslam or Dreadnaught, both of which have a bigger malt backbone. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 8, 2009 22oz bottle purchased at Alpine for $5 which I think is a great deal for a double IPA. Clear golden color, soapy head, good lacing. The smell is hoppy but not in the fruity, citrus vein and more of the oily grassy hoppiness. The flavor is quite hoppy but again, not much fruit or citrus but a ton of oily bitter hoppiness with a decent biscuit-like malt to back it up. This is a fantastic value and if I could I would buy this all the time.

Awesome dry citrus aroma of grapefruit and other pine like resin fragrances. Big and dry flavor, more dry than I anticipated. Big body, big flavor. Really clean and rather scarily quaffable. Freakin tasty beer.
