A West Coast Double IPA So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

If you’re content with grabbing a six-pack of mega-brew from your local convenience store, quit reading this now. If, however, you’ve somehow become addicted to the flowers of the Humulus lupulus, you may have finally met your match. Alpine Beer Company has raised the bar for hop aroma, nose, mouthfeel and aftertaste. Opening a bottle of Pure Hoppiness is like spraying an aromatherapy can in the area -- except instead of lavender and jasmine, the air becomes filled with a citrusy-floral aroma which invites you to investigate and discover the pot of gold at the end of the brown glass bottle.

Small shaker showing dark amber. The nose shows sweet tropical fruits. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Big malty flavors perfectly balance and compliment big clean pine flavors. Once again with barely any bitterness on the finish. My god, do these guys know how to make an awesome IPA.

Poured to an event shaker at the WCD Trade Expo 2015 in Chicago. displaying a clear, golden hue, with frothy, soft white head foam, and spots & ribbons of lacing. The nose offered good expression to the citrusy grapefruit scent, with a touch of malt sweetness. A bit less than medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste added moderate citrusy & earthy bitterness, with some rind-like astringency, and hidden alcohol. Not overwhelming, but nice balance, and more in the single IPA range to me.

1st try from Alpine, and what a try it is! Jeez...a major hop bomb, yet, still manages to have just enough of a back bone to not edge this thing into mouth-pucker mode. Excellent 1st impression! So much stuff out here in California it is ridiculous! 22oz bombs away.

Love visiting San Diego. Alpine is one of best at their IPAs this one is citrus pine and so fresh hoppy nature. Flavor is exceptionally fresh hops. Pine lingers on and on.

22 oz. bomber poured into a snifter. Ripe orange body with a small, off-white head with loads of lacing. The head is gone quickly, though. Pungent citrus hop aroma. Grapefruit dominated with piney afterthoughts. Nary a hint of sweetness, but burnt caramel comes through with some nut aromas. Identical to the smell. Full-blown hop assault. Not as bitter as I would have expected. Grapefruit and pine hop flavors. Almost no sweetness at all. Nuts, caramel, and vanilla all come through in the malt backbone. Clean finish. Delicious. Medium body, light for its size. Drinkable. Unbelievably good IPA

Clear pale golden yellow pour with a white head. Massive citrus and pine nose. Big citrus hop character, slightly bitter finish.

22oz bottle purchased from Craftshack. Pours a clear pale orange color with a thick 2+ fingers of frothy white head. Aroma of lemon, pineapple, tangerine, sweet malts, and some light pineyness. Taste of lemon and orange zest, grapefruit, bitter pine sappyness, and sweet malts.

Bomber via perkins. Clear light copper with an off white head that mostly fades. Somewhat sweet and lightly pungent hop aroma of grapefruit, old cheddar, papaya, dried orange rind, a booze presence that is well hidden but lends a lot of depth, smooth, moderate carbonation and full body, very dry, lots of citrus, long finish. Yummy.

22 oz bottle. From the brewery. Clear golden colour with a small white head. The aroma is superbly balanced sweet and grainy malt and dry and fruity hops. Great! And it goes on... the flavour is in perfect balance. Hoppy dryness, moderate bitterness and balancing maltiness. Absolutely great! After the disappointing Mandarin Nectar this really kicks in. Fabulous! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
