crizay (1069), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Aug 6, 2007 Thanks MikeTD. Orange pour with small white head. Citrus hop aroma. Orange and light grapefruit hops. Slight caramel background. Dry-hopped like crazy with loads of citrus flavor and aroma. Hops and nothing else with tons of flavor and little bitterness, great beer.
fiver29 (257), Strongsville, Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2008 Bottle pours amber/orange color with tan head. Aroma is big pine, citrus, and bold hops. Has a medium mouthfeel and has hop blast upfront with mostly citrus coming through. Some malt on the back end and is overall a really nice IPA. daknole (531), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 9, 2008 DELICIOUS! Pours a nice godlen/orange color with a white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, floral, and some malt. Flavor is juicy and hoppy and has some good malt in the back. Good stuff, damn good stuff. Dogbrick (2166), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 8, 2008 Sample at San Diego Brewing Company. This brew is a mostly clear orange-gold color with a thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Fruity hops aroma with some caramel malt interplay. Medium-bodied and lively on the tongue with a floral hops character and a solid caramel and malt undertone. The finish is citrus and hops with a lingering bitterness left over. Good all around. General_Gao (2368), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 8, 2008 22oz bottle. Attractive hop dominated aroma with grapefruit, pine resin, and lime notes. There was also a whiff of spices. Poured a clear medium orange color with a lasting off white head. Some decent lace was left behind on the glass. Light to medium bodied with hop bitterness on the higher end of the spectrum (7-ish out of 10). The flavor was mostly resiny/citrusy hops with a delicate graham cracker/caramel malt backbone. Delicious. Eminently drinkable. enginaaron (33), San Diego, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 Huge aroma with the best hop balance/combination of any imperial iPA in San Diego county. Clear golden color. The flavor isn’t overly bitter but has a large amount of malt but not too sweet, to an retain an IPA-type balance. Very tasty. Hits you in all sides of the mouth with a combination of bitterness and sweetness. Overall I love this beer. I’ve had it several times and it continues to be a favorite of mine. Actually, I think the cask version of this is probably the best double IPA I’ve ever had.
