3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - SEP 19, 200922 oz. bottle from CelticBrew-thanks, Jim. Light amber/gold body, medium off white head, rings of lace that cling to the glass after each swallow. Lots of aromatic pine, grapefruit zest, and a backdrop of toffee and caramel. Medium body and carbonation, quite resinous, very dry on the palate. Although the malt provides a solid base here, it’s the hops that shine through with a big citrus rind bitterness, and a long, dry finish. A solid double IPA with plenty of hop kick.

My favorite beer of theirs. Probably my favorite DIPA that I’ve ever had. Yes I like it more than Pliny, Sculpin and Heady Topper....and yes I said that. Nice head and phenomenal flavor smell and mouthfeel.

Had a pint from a growler at a BBQ, not a big IPA fan overall but I liked this one more than Duet. Hoppy but not overpoweringly bitter like many DIPA’s...

Bottle. Clear dark gold pour with bubbly white head - you can almost see the oily hop texture. Dank, piney hop aroma, light biscuity/honey malts, very light caramel. Taste will take you to hop heaven as they say, really piney, resinous (almost in texture too) hops. Alcohol is a non issue with so many hops. Palate is med bodied with good carbonation. Pretty solid IIPA.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops plus some caramel and pale malts. Flavor the same, with nothing really sticking out. Average texture. An interesting beer, but a little over-hyped.

Beautiful clear, dark orange. Very little head. Big thick pine on the nose. With some fruit notes that remind me of tangerine and grapefruit. Very light body and easy to drink, but with an incredible hop character. Not too bitter, piney or fruity. Just a fantastic DIPA. Nothing else needs to be said.

Spicy hops. Very west coast. Mostly pine touch of floral and a little citrius. Pretty damn good stuff.

Bottle (22 oz). Thanks Nick! Clear orange with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma if of tropical fruits, citrus, malt, grassy hops, resinous notes and onions. Aroma is moderately sweet with tropical fruits, resinous presence, grassy hops, malt, caramel and moderate to high bitterness. Medium body. Dry. Very good DIPA. Way better than Exponential Hoppiness in my opinion. Drinkable. Good balance considering how much hops there’s is in there.

Bottle from Tommy, thanks! Pours a light orange with white head, little lacing. Aroma is full of grapefruits, orange peel, resinous. Taste is grapefruits, a bit of mango, a bit grassy, resinous hops, maybe a tiny hint of onions., good malty base but nothing that will hide hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. Very good and very drinkable.

Bomber at home. Pour is hazy copper in appearance with a frothy white head and great lacing. DISCLAIMER: this beer smelled and tasted much better on my initial half of the bomber, there might be something in the yeast that is giving this some off flavors and aromas from pouring out the entire bottle. I am rating this one on the first half of my bottle. Tropical fruits, light weed, pineapple, a touch of caramel, grapefruity and citrusy aroma. Taste is orange peels, grapefruit, a touch of overripe mango, somewhat bready backbone, earthy and spicy hops, doughy and grassy with a medium bitter finish. Medium/sticky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Pretty good DIPA, but I wish I didn’t pour out the entire bottle.
