Light yellow pour with a nice two finger head. Leaves a ton of lacing. Nice citrus hop and light tangerine smell. First taste is a piney resiny hop with a light malt profile. Light bitterness, not harsh at all. Great malt profile that blends perfectly with the hops. As it warms up, it comes alive with a biscuit bready taste and the hops fade to the background. Dialed in carbonation. Two years ago this was one of my favorites.
explosivebeer (35), Washington, USA Sep 26, 2008 First off, I didn’t take notes when I tasted this beer. But it is quite memorable so hopefully that’ll be sufficient. From what I remember it was a fine clear light amber color. What was most outstanding was the amazing aroma that simply exploded with hoppy goodness. The body was nicely balanced with sweet maltiness and it finished as spectacularly as it started. This is a beautiful beer. Swolf3 (88), Elkton, Maryland, USA Sep 20, 2008 Bottle thanks to Hophead22, and shared with GMCC21821. Poured Clear gold in color. Aroma is very piney along with a floral scent. Taste is also lots of pine along with malt and slight bitterness. This was a very well balanced brew and finished clean. GMCC2181 (422), Bear, Delaware, USA Sep 20, 2008 Bottle shared by swolf3...Thanks wolf. Awesome aroma of piney hops. Color was a light yellow color, average head. Taste was a super smooth, well balanced IPA. Nice bitterness lots of pine flavor. Good west coast IPA. Good texture, average carbonation. thanks wolf. drfabulous (739), Columbia, Missouri, USA Sep 15, 2008 Straight up West Coast hop monster. That’s why I bought it. Lots of citrus, very floral, probably better on tap than bottle, but what the hell. I live in Missouri. I have to rely on the bottle. Much smoother than some other West Coast IPAs, which is neither good nor bad. But a nice change of pace. fishingnet (856), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 15, 2008 Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a clear copper with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus, floral, and pine hops with a good dose of sweet malt and light caramel to back it up. Taste is the sme as aroma but less prominent. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and very smooth alcohol. A damn fine brew.
