Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Chocolate and hutty malt aroma with light grapefruit. Nutty, chooclate flavor with light grapefruit and light pine. Medium bodied. Nuttiness and chocolate lingers with light pine and light vanilla.

Growler shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael! The beer is a clear, amber hue with a decent sized head and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma brings some really fresh citrus and hops. A distinctly Alpine aroma, something I have come to appreciate, this is going to be a wonderful beer. Indeed, another terrific hop forward offering from Alpine. Not quite as hoppy as many of their other offerings, this one is still hop forward, with a very minimal malt presence. The feel is creamy and smooth. Dangerously drinkable, we made short work of the growler. I would really enjoy having this again. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 07-13-2011

Draft at toronado SD. Clear amber pour, medium off white head. Caramel malt, fruit, piney bitter hops, and some grain. A pretty good amber, but nothing amazing in my opinion.

Growler courtesy of yourefragile at last Thursday’s mini-tasting. Served in a HopCat tulip. Pours a clear reddish-amber color with an average white head and some spotty lacing on the way down. Thin cap throughout. The nose brings a moderate amount of bready, caramelized malt plus a good dosing of citrus and pine hops. The flavor is pine hops with a bit of resin atop a base of amber malt and some light sweetness. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium body and fairly chewy. Nice offering, though not quite as good as other brews I’ve had from Alpine. Serving type: growler

On tap at O’Brien’s’ during a big soccer match on the ‘tube’ pouring clear ruby red with copper edges and white head. The aroma has loads of spicy hops and some roasty malts followed up by a bit of herbal like hop notes. The taste has a nice pulse of malts, dark roasted malts and then quickly sliding into fresh bold spicy hops, herbal like hoppiness, earthiness and some pine hop resin into the finish. Another solid offering.

Bottle… Pours a clear amber with orange highlights and a mid-sized, fizzy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is an excellent medley of medium-roast malts and citrusy hops – pink grapefruit, light pine and a whisper of tangerine. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The well-balanced flavor is a blend of flavorful, juicy hops – grapefruit, pineapple and pine – and medium-roast malts – caramel, biscuit and toffee. Short, crisp, mildly bitter finish. Thanks go out to richiesd for shipping this growler from Sand Diego to Vero Beach!

On tap at Alpine Brewpub. Nice amber pour with one inch lasting head. Nose if hops, malt, and light fruit. Taste was nutty and fairly hoppy and reminded me a lot of FFF Brian Boru. Nice balanced amber ale with a non overpowering hop kick.

A: Pours a nice auburn color with beige head. S: Carmel, hops, some roasted malts. T: Slightly sweet on the front end with a nice amount of bittering hops in the back end of this one. There is some caramel notes in there, maybe a little bit of pine. M: Nicely carbonated. O: Only brewed during major soccer tournaments. This is a hop forward red with a nice balance. Well done.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2011 4oz (I think) taster at brewery. Pours an amber-brown color with a medium beige head that has fair retention. The aroma is kinda faint with sweet malts and biter hops. Flavor is hops forward with fruity hops (I’m thinking Nelson) set in a nutty caramel malt base. Palate is full and smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes semi-sweet and fruity. Overall: Very nice, a bit closer to an IPA than to an amber ale. Re-rate on 06-22 - pint glass at the brewpub-wow they really kicket up the hops. Lots of piney hops and less caramel, I’m upping my rating.
