Pours with an orange gold body topped by a thick head with lots of lacing. It’s bitter and hoppy with a light maltiness and notes of pine. Much hoppier than I expected from a pale ale. Light bodied, smooth and crisp.

On tap at ABC 09.09.2011 with Andy, James and Dallas for Dallas’ bachelor weekend. Dark, glossy sort of amber pour with a pillowey, whipped cream-like white head that lingers around. Hoppy, icy aroma and a crisp, clean hoppiness with minimal aftertaste. Smooth beer.

Draft at Toronado. Pours a nice amber. Big citrus fruits in the nose. Taste is juicy while maintaining a nice bitterness. Finishes nice and clean. Would be an awesome session beer.

Draftat toronado with dallas and Andrew. Pours a hazy amber body with insane white lacing. Aroma is incredible blend of citrus fruits - apricot, peach, and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is perfect for an American pale ale with same fruity notes plus pine. Awesome.

Big thanks to mdfb79 for sharing this growler. Served in an Alpine pint glass on an Alpine coaster while wearing an Alpine t-shirt. That’s right, Paul. Aside from demolishing Paul, the beer was also quite pleasant to drink. Pours a nice apricot color with a two-finger white head and good lacing and retention. Nose carries a light dosing of New Zealand hops. Citrus rind and light tropical notes, plus just a touch of pine. Nothing too strong -- they could have gone with more here. The flavor adds a bit more character and isn’t quite as tame, with nice fruity notes throughout. Light body with crisp carbonation and a light bitterness. Nothing too intense, but a great summer brew.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2011 Growler pour. Translucent brass color with a monster off-white head that has crazy lacing and great retention. The aroma is dominated by citrus, mostly oranges but also some grapefruit and lemons, with a bit of sweet lime on the back end. The taste, like the aroma, is more good citrus with oranges and grapefruits set in a caramel malt base. The palate is light and crisp with soft carbonation. Finishes short and clean. Overall: Very nice, a good example of how a beer can taste and smell hoppy without being particularly biter. I just wish that the finish had been longer and more satisfying.

Thanks to largadeer. Growler. Very nice. It’s light and dry with lots of hops. I love these beers that are basically scaled down West Coast-style IPAs. Pours pale gold with a white head. Nose has plenty of hops and leans toward the citric and tropical flavors. Light on the palate with just a touch of pale malt flavor. Very pleasant mild bitter hop bite in the finish. A good beer for an afternoon of drinking.

A: The beer pours a cloudy golden orange with a white head. S: Starts off with nice grapefruit/citrus hops on the nose. Plenty of floral notes along with a mild bread note and a light wheat smell. There is plenty of pine hop character as well. T: A moderate hop/pine bitterness to open up. Like with any hoppy Alpine beer, lots of citrus and pine hop flavors. There is just a light floral note and some light maltiness. M: Medium in body and carbonation. O: I’ve liked these lower alcohol, highly hopped beers from Alpine. A nicely done beer.

Tap at O’Briens. Light golden and clear to look at. White head with some grassy smells. Light in body with some good flavors. Bitter hops, earthy spice, and a tad bit of balanced sweetness. Finishes bitter and dry. Easy to drink. Very good.
