Draught at RFD’s 11/7/05: Clear medium amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is ligth soap, sharp lemon, sweet citrus. Taste seems to have a house yeast character (not that I’d know what that is having never tried Alpine beers previously, but that’s what it tastes like to me), floral & grapefruit hops, salt, fruity yeast, and lemon. Light-medium bodied, low carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear orange body and a small white head. Aromas are bready, caramel, grassy, citrus and lots of fruit. Flavors are citrusy, hoppy, tropical fruit, lightly dank. Malt profile is bready with a bit of caramel. Medium bodied, medium to slightly lively carbonation. Millennium Pale was quite a bit better, but this is still pretty solid.

Growler… Lightly hazed orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. The stars of this aromatic show are fruity, piney, spicy hops, but there’s some nice tea biscuit thrown into the mix as well. Full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Balanced nicely with lots of fruity hops, toffee and biscuit malt flavor. Finishes crisp, fruity and moderately sweet. One of the best amber ales I’ve yet to try. Growler courtesy of richiesd!

Growler. Clear amber pour, frothy off-white head. Citrus, caramel malt, nice piney bitterness, fresh hops, light fruit, and some lightly bready grain. Nice amber.

Oh wow. It’s been nearly a year since I had this, but I cetainly remember this being the one that kicked off my Wet Hop Festival at O’Briens. Great stuff, though difficult to really gauge when you’re drinking like 20 other freshly hopped ales. I do recall this being different from the rest by being a little maltier than, say, the Simply Simcoe from Bear Republic. I liked it. One of those beers that tases so fresh you’d think they made it in the back kitchen for you and you alone. I hope to see this again.

Crystal clear deep amber body with beige head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is not very strong, medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, light lemon. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, bready, caramel, some salty. Medium body, very drinkable.
