Since “Willy” is so versatile and can be flavored with fruits and essences, we add a touch of vanilla extract to compliment the sweet nuttiness. Also good mixed with Captain Stout, a blend we call “The Captain and Vanil.”

Aromas of buttered toast and some oxidization. Vanilla is also buttery and present throughout the palate of the beer. Drying but also coats the palate as the vanilla lingers.

The nose is artificial vanilla. The taste is sweet vanilla and a total mistake. Full body malt and horrible.

Od beer, but I kinds liked it. Nice mix of vanilla, citrus (lime?), and graham cracker. Actually kind of like a key lime pie. Tasty, would get again.

$2.20 bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is light grass, light citrus, light candy. Not sure about vanilla, but perhaps. Taste definitely has vanilla in it - vanilla extract - on top of light caramel and grasses. It’s OK. Also, note that my bottle says 5.5% abv, not 4.9% as listed.

It pours fairly clear yellow with a small white head. The aroma has crisp wheat, light citrus and pretty mellow overall. It has a light body with soft carbonation. The taste has the crisp taste of the aroma, there is a hint of vanilla and quite a bit of spiciness. Decent.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Momo’s Pizza - Northside. Hazy, light golden pour, soft, off-white head Aroma has some vanilla accents, a touch of sweet caramel. Flavor leans to the sweet side, hints of vanilla, a touch of mint, some coriander spiciness in the back end. Decently thick mouthfeel.

On tap at Hops & Pie. Slightly hazy golden appearance with a white head. Big vanilla aroma with lighter notes of bread, grains and nutty malts. Similar flavor, pretty tasty with a lingering vanilla finish over a light body.

Bottle. Deep Golden in color with a medium sized head. Aroma is roasted grains and vanilla. Taste is a nutty grain flavor with vanilla dominating.

I’m buying all the Alpine I can get my hands on; it’s not easy to find in St. Louis. Surprised by the low rating, hope it exceeds RB’s opinion. Fake vanilla scent with some lemon rind, not a good aroma at all. Looks basic - golden color with a short lived white head and no lacing. The taste is all over the place. Wheat, hops citrus and vanilla sounds good, but here it’s a mess. Weak palate, funky aftertaste. I might pour this out. Alpine is usually great, but don’t buy this.
