COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Willy, named after my brother-in-law’s childhood nickname, is crisp and light-bodied, with a slightly sweet, nutty flavor. The hopping is mild and gentle. It’s perfect for times when you crave a beer utterly refreshing and low in alcohol. A true thirst quencher everyone enjoys. 1.047 OG 4 IBU 4.9%ABV

Disclaimer - I doubt this will ever be I style I could love, even though this brewery makes some of the world’s most wonderful beers. Got this in a trade with hamilton23 (thank you!). 22 oz bottle into a wizen glass. This beer poured a light yellow with a tiny white head which disappeared almost immediately. There was almost no lacing to speak of. The nose was wheat, yeast, and some lemon zest but very faint. Taste was similar, i.e. wheat, yeast and a tiny lemon tinge. There was little carbonation and the mouthfeel was very light. While not displeasing, this is the most forgettable beer from a great brewery. I have had 9 Alpine beers and this is the ONLY one I would pass on, if offered.

Draught at the brewpub in Alpine. Slightly hazy golden beer, almost no head. Malty wheat aroma, citrus, grassy, biscuits, caramel notes. Malty fruity wheat flavor, grassy, caramel, grapes, apples, some oranges. Decent beer.

On tap at Alpine, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very subtle with nothing much detectable, other than maybe floral and biscuity notes. Flavour brings out lemony notes, floral notes and citrus. Pretty light and lemony. Smooth and drinkable, but fairly boring.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear yellow color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Wheat and mild hops in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, wheat and pale malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Draft - Wheat, apples and mild yeast. Pale yellow with a thin head. Light lemon, wheat, pear and a medium body. Although this is supposed to be light I find it a tad heavy on flavour and on my palate.

Bottle. Pours hay gold like a lager. No head. Barely any aroma. Bready, slightly spicy, sweet aroma. Taste is crackers and sugar. Kind of dry, which is surprising. Easy drinking, in the way that flavored water is easy drinking.

On draught at Alpine. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is biscuit, cracker and light citrus. Taste is semi-sweet with some bitterness. Somewhat thick, but easy to drink. Not bad.
