3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden-orange body, medium white head, spotty lacing. Citrus, grapefruit, resin, some vegetal/herbal notes distract. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fairly sticky with assertive bitterness. A bit rough and unpolished.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber gifted by Marcus! Thanks!! Pours hazy dark gold with a slight white head. Aroma is heavily resin with some citrus/floral. Full bodied. Flavor is extremely hoppy. Fruit is strongly present, but resin/citrus/floral are contributing to a hop burn in the mouth. Interesting that the malt backbone is present, but hardly obtrusive. This ale is quite different in taste from the NW ones, but itís right in there with hop. Finishes unharshly bitter as heck.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, plus light fruit, and some pale, caramel, and cereal malts. Flavor the same with a nice hop profile. Average texture. A good double IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle, sent from Neillago (thanks a lot man), pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Nose brings out loads of tropical fruits (mangos, peaches, pineapples), piney and resinous hops, and some grapefruit - extremely aromatic and inviting. Flavour is extremely potent, with loads of grapefruit, peaches and pineapple, truckloads of piney and resinous hops, and just enough caramel biscuity malt to back. Extremely pungent with the hops and tropical fruits, leaving a bitter grapefruity finish. With the seven hops and seven malts, you might think this would be a little muddled, but they manage to make it work. Very hop-forward, with a strong malt backbone and very grapefruit-heavy bitter finish. Not in the league of Pure Hoppiness or Exponential Hoppiness, but an excellent IIPA nonetheless.

Huge thanks to Bird_Machine for this one! Bottle. Pours hazy butterscotch with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is Alpine, but a bit subdued. Grapefruit, mango, passionfruit. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet, light bitter. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice beer, but not up the the best that Alpine brings to the table.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at City Beer. Brilliant clear golden-orange in color with a one-finger white head. Excellent aroma with pineapple and resin leading the way along with other citrus and pine. Great fresh hop flavor, a bit more malt-forward than most Alpine beers, which is not saying much. Killer hoppy finish. Medium-bodied with hop oils on the mouthfeel and a good carbonation level. Excellent tick.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Review from bottle, previously tried on draft. Pours tawny and clear. Small off-white head. Good lacing and retention. Looked pretty much the same from the keg. The aroma has lots of citrus and tropical fruit with stone fruit, berries and grapes chiming in, as well. Iím mostly getting tangerine and pineapple. Some peach, apricot, raspberry, green grapes, grass and honeysuckle. Lots of hops. Iím getting some definite Nelson Sauvin probably combined with Citra and other more citrusy hops. A gentle touch of caramel malt sweetness comes out but sticks to the background. I was a bit worried that the beer would be maltier, based on the seven hop/seven malt angle, but itís definitely right in Alpineís normal, hop-forward IPA wheelhouse. The taste starts with a burst of sweet green grapes, peaches and juicy pineapple. Tangerine and grapefruit flavors come out next and provide some solid bitterness. Mild pale malt sweetness with a touch of that caramel holds up the hops. There also seems to be some rye spice zinging around. The finish is citrus, grass and floral hoppiness. The beer is moderately dry and chock full of hop flavor. Mouthfeel is pretty normal for an Alpine IPA. Perhaps, a bit more body, but itís still light on the palate with a pleasant hop oiliness. Overall, itís worthy of standing alongside the rest of Alpineís IPA lineup. I prefer Nelson and would probably put it right around Duet. Itís just a touch unfocused. However, itís a minor criticism, and the beer is still quite good.
