3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 awaisanen (1312) - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 9, 2007
On draught. Pours a rich sun blanched straw color, cleanly transparent, with a thin layer of white head. Clean aromas of gentle bready malts, a breath of spicy hops, and a note of sauvgnon blanc that gives it a nice fruity character - not a grapey off-ness. Light bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel, but a steady stream of bubbles rises atop to keep the head afloat and let you know it’s breathing. A clean, fresh pale grain flavor starts out the palate with a restrained white grape garnish. Herbal hops take over the finish, creating a crisp, dry, refreshing final smack of bitter herbs. A nice example with an excellent bitterness on the back end, but a bit more hop flavor could help freshen up the front of the palate some.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beershine (4702) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2007
Tried at 2004 Seattle Intl. Beer Festival. "Pilsner don’t get any better dan dat!" is all I wrote in my notes. As with many festival samples, we cannot judge too much on appearance because the conditions (3-ounce plastic cups) are not ideal. Similarly, some beers must be had in longer draughts. Anyway, I seemed to have really liked this one but that was also before I had Urquell from the cellar keg in Pilsen.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TimE (2065) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 27, 2007
Golden color. Buscuity malty and saaz nose. Solid malt backbone and moderate bitterness in finish. Pretty good, but more bitterness would do wonders for this beer.

draft. clear medium yellow with a white head. short retention. light buttered biscuits, mostly clean nose with light floured dough yeast and mild dry aromatic hops. clean, snappy, fresh, bright, medium body for the style, good but delicate malt support, but somewhat underhopped, especially when they’re calling it bohemian pilsner on the tap handle.
