COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The perfect place between light and regular beer. Alpine Summit is a new beer from the award-winning Alpine family. It has the real taste of a regular beer and the remarkably clean finish of a light beer.

355 ml can from New Brunswick Liquor Corporation on King Street, Saint John, New Brunswick (May 2007), served right out of the fridge and defiling my Christoffel glass in the process. Ha! Halfway between light and "regular" beer. What the hell. Anyway, there’s a big frothy, fizzy head that dies away very quickly atop the pale, you-could-read-through-it-clear cidery body.....aroma is not unpleasant, what there is of it, barely distinguishable mild adjuncty graininess....on the tongue, well, it’s cold, that’s about all I can say about that. There is a bit of a metallic character at the finish that’s not so pleasant but otherwise there’s really nothing I can grasp, just an extremely faint corn sugar - dry stale bready quality....carbonation is low, mouthfeel is syrupy yet very thin at the same time. About as "good" as the Cold-Filtered Light I had a couple of days ago.

355ml can pours a pale straw color with a small white head that leaves no lacing behind. Aromas are light grains and mild hops. Taste is along the same lines which is typical for the style. Just another typical macro lager.

[2034-20090312] 355mL can. Veggie yeast and scratchy hay aroma. Clear, yellow body with a quick foamy white head. More veggie straw yeast in the flavour. Light body. Terrible.

2009-03-12. Yellow body with a small white head. Muted aroma, lightly grainy lightly alcoholic. Flavour is similarly muted and mild. Very light muted grains, light bitterness, light touch of alcohol. Not much going on here. Very small amount of hops? Relatively clean and inoffensive. Average to thin bodied palate. Meh. Can from NB Liquor

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 341 ml bottle from Moosehead cold beer store here in Dartmouth NS. First off the lable says nothing about what the beer is except "real taste and clean finish". Pours a basicly non existant head and straw colored body. Standard aroma. It has no real taste that stand out besides what I would call a discount beer aftertaste. This beer is boring and over priced. Moosehead failed this time.

(Rating #1479)

Can. I can’t believe I actually poured this into a glass. Very light smells of grain and sweat. Head was small, fizzy, white with no lacing and fully diminished. Color is clear gold. Flavor is lightly acidic. Palate is light and watery with a fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Blecch.

The Aussies routinely brew beers that are halfway between regular beers abd light beers. They call them "Midstrengths" and every major brewer in Australia has at least one in their lineup. Anyway, I digress... This pours like a Corona-- pale clear straw yellow with a rich foamy white head leaving no lace. Low grainy aroma. Light watery grainy palate. The only positive thing to say is that it tasted clean (unlike the mouthful of piss Alpine Max I tried yesterday), but otherwise pretty featureless and lacking in character.

A bit of a livened up light beer. Pours straw yellow and has some light malt notes. You actually get a light hit of hops on th finish. It is better than miller lite.

I was surprised - there was a bit of taste to this stuff. barely, but I did notice something. However, I am keeping the low rating for the television commercial which proudly proclaims: "Half way between a lager and a light beer". Half way between a lager and pure spring water would have been a more appropriate advertising campaign.
