Idiosynkrasie (3725) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2014
330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly fruity, malty aroma, minimally grainy, hints of green apple, a floral touch. Taste is slightly fruity, malty, grassy hoppy overtones, a touch of green apple, slightly floral middle part. The little monk doesn’t kill me, but he plays as measured by his featured part (Dortmunder) way better than some wannabee Mephisto I’ve seen earlier today.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, getreidig, leicht fruchtig. Geschmack malzig würzig, getreidig, leicht fruchtig.

Clean and crisp grassy hop aroma. Darkish gold, lazy carbonation, small but sufficient white head. Mostly grainy base, good hop notes. Hay, meadow and sweet malt aroma.

bartlebier (1640) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - FEB 9, 2014
33cl sixpacks between 2013-2014. This looks like the more noble, improved, small-dose version of A’s Export and Pils, but is a much more dull beer: their trademark natural hop zing smothered by grainier caramel malts and even a bit of ABV noticeable, while being more watery. Odd that this is able to survive in the range between Pils and Märzen.

Bottle shared with McTapps. This one is a million miles away from being a Helles. Hops all the way from nose to the end. Well, it is not that powerfully hopped as an IPA but it has a huge aroma and aftertaste of it. Best it: the end is not that bitter and we have a very quaffy beer here. Thumbs up !

Clear light amber colour with big steady head and medium body. Nose of spicy hops. Taste of spicy, ripe hops, coriander, white pepper, thyme and malt. Very dry finish with gentle IPA-hints. Surprisingly nice and tasting beer.

Bottle looks very simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Starts mild but not washy. Mild spicy, more and more wheaty. Finish with mild sourish notes. Well balanced and quite drinkable. A good one!
