Quite sweety for a pilsner and hints of citrus and lemon. Very thirst-quenching and enjoyable. Golden colour, small head, fair lacing, not bad !

Pours with a thick, fluffy head and clear golden color. Aroma and taste are on the light side, with some up front hop bitterness. taste fades quickly....decent but not great pilsener

Bottle by 24.12.2012. Nose out of the bottle is sweet and reminds strongly of lemonade, like a Radler was mislabeled. Out of the glass, not so bad. Pours pale yellow with strong carb and a rocky white head. Taste is somewhat sweet and malty with no bitterness, chalky somewhat light body with citrus and grass. Dries out a smidgen, but not much.

Undoubtably the best beer in the world and has held the title in 2010. This alpirsbacher pilsner is, i promise u the best beer you will ever have the pleasure of drinking, even from the bottle. Tasty, crisp, refreshing, sinkable, everything you want from a beer, you have to try it to believe it. Import some or go to the black forest. U wont regret it. If they sold it elsewhere the family of brewers would be millionaires.

German pilsners being what they are in a culture largely lagging behind, I find this SouthWestern pils, normally a bit sweeter and maltier than a lot of the north-german ones to really go out on a limb for taste: really fruity hops on the nose, floral aroma with agreeable sweetness. I really taste the quality of the ingredients in this one and find this beer currently underrated. Somewhat uneven mouthfeel could be improved to make his a, if not world, then surely European-class pils with loads of unexpected tasty charm instead of standard bitterness.

500ml Bottle, best before 4th Sept 2012, poured into the correct Pilsner glass twice during Feb 2012. Bright, clear and light golden in colour, a quickly thinning white head sat on top: looked your normal refreshing pilsner/lager/helles. The smell was your typical ‘no show’ smell so many beers of this style seem to have. Hints of far away hops and dried grass, almost hay like. The taste was very dry, crisp and mildly of hops, a sprinkling of malt might have been added during the brewing process but it doesn’t come across greatly in the flavour of the beer. This is a summer Pilsner; it lacks depth and strength of character for a winter night, but I’d have enjoyed it a lot more if I’d been sat in the sun, beer in the shade and having a cold meat platter with my feet up. Scored objectively and fairly (IMHO).

Nordcore (949) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Light golden with a large shortlived white head. A malty and grainy aroma. Ligth bitter-sweet taste with a sweet malty end.

Tap. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is cereal and grain malt, light spicy hops and a clean lager character. Flavor is malt with medium-light spicy hops, medium bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation.
