   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 14/20
brugmanneke (283) - GERMANY - SEP 1, 2013
(on tap) Bright golden color, persistent white head, clear and shiny. Looks quite appealing - even though it is so pale one could think it would be on the thin side (which is not the case). The aroma is dominated by the hops, mainly of the grassy kind. Yummy! Some white bread is there as well, but very much in the background. The aroma is not very intense, but absolutely appropriate for a Pilsener. After a while the hop aroma builds up on the palate and stays there after the last drop is swallowed. This is a must for a fine pilsener, in my opinion. This one is definitely spot-on. The bitterness is less stronger than I would expect from a Pilsener - but then again this is a South German example, so that’s ok. Medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, pleasant to drink. I’d love to have it again.

Draught at BBF13. Clear yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is watery, slightly metallic. CO2 flavour. Rather disappointing.

Malty aroma, some hops. Sweet malt flavors, bitter finish. Simple little German pils.

Bamsen78 (4257) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 4, 2013
Draught @ BBF13. Pours pale golden with small white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of malt and a paperlike finish. Nice and refreshing, certainly above the standard for the type in Germany.

Clear light golden colour with low head and medium body. Nose of hops. Taste of fresh fizzy hops, grass, roses, coriander and hay. Very easy and nice to drink and the finish is just so fresh and nice. Really good. Pours clear gold, with a small white head. Aroma is of German hops, a bit floral with hay. Taste is fairly dry, with a nice hop finish. Nice and clean with balance.

MichaelAwesome (5552) - Wanne-Eickel, North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 18, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2013 A nice Pilsner which comes crispy with some hay and grass in the aroma. Not too bitter in the end makes a few points extra. Short and sharp hoppy-crispy finish. Could have been an english bitter like cocker hoop. Fine. Really fine.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A. BBE 15.3.2011, rated on 28.02.2011
Aroma has hops similar to the ones from Turkkila. Also some grainy malt and grass. Flavour is quite refreshing with nice hop profile, grass, some nettles, grainy malt and distant herbal notes. Refreshing and nice even though the BBE date was close.
