2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 cgreb (351) - Marburg, - OCT 31, 2008
bottle - yellow golden beer with white head. Hoppy fresh aroma. Malty but to light aroma.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2012
500ml Bottle, best before 4th Sept 2012, poured into the correct Pilsner glass twice during Feb 2012. Bright, clear and light golden in colour, a quickly thinning white head sat on top: looked your normal refreshing pilsner/lager/helles.
The smell was your typical ‘no show’ smell so many beers of this style seem to have. Hints of far away hops and dried grass, almost hay like.
The taste was very dry, crisp and mildly of hops, a sprinkling of malt might have been added during the brewing process but it doesn’t come across greatly in the flavour of the beer.
This is a summer Pilsner; it lacks depth and strength of character for a winter night, but I’d have enjoyed it a lot more if I’d been sat in the sun, beer in the shade and having a cold meat platter with my feet up.
Scored objectively and fairly (IMHO).
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nordcore (633) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Light golden with a large shortlived white head. A malty and grainy aroma. Ligth bitter-sweet taste with a sweet malty end.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerandBlues2 (6096) - Lone Tree, Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2012
Tap. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is cereal and grain malt, light spicy hops and a clean lager character. Flavor is malt with medium-light spicy hops, medium bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kevnic2008 (1636) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - FEB 26, 2012
Poured a clear gold with not much head. Aroma was somewhat floral, caramel and spice. Flavor was about the same. Pretty good for the style
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 darkseduction (379) - Zweibrücken, GERMANY - DEC 25, 2011
Bottle 33cl. Clear golden brew with dense white foam. Nice hoppy nose, decent malty body. Very drinkable due to good water. Good pilsener.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (4384) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 9, 2011
Draft @ Berlin beer festival 2011.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 29, 2011
My Bottom Line :
Grassy hops and crisp straw-like malts serve this balanced German Pils well, but biting carbonation’s mineral edge tends to render it tiring.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A tuft of foam recedes into a slice on top of the clear golden.
-This is as drinkable as any other super clean German Pils.
-The flavor profile is subtle throughout with no standouts.
-This is well-crafted, but nothing special personality-wise.
On tap at the kiosk in front of Hotel Schwarzwalder Hof, in Freiburg.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JUN 22, 2011
Draught at Löwen Poste, Alpirsbach Pale blond color. The aroma is very anonymous. The flavor in the beginning is forgettable as well, but at least with a light hop trace; the final goes back to limbo.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - APR 21, 2011
500 ml bottle in Germany. Pours a gold yellow color. Aromas of grass, earth, and lots of hops. Flavor is typical southern German pilsner, Palate leaves you a dry slighlty bitter then turns sweet aftertaste. Ok
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jaghana (2079) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - APR 10, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 On tap @ brewery. A clear yellow beer with good head. Nose is malty, aroma is nutty and maly with a very nice hops bouquet, especially at finish where the bitterness do remains long time, slightly fruity and sweet, a good pilsener.
