500ml bottle. Creamy, thick, unfiltered deep pumpkin orange. Massive white head. The aroma doesn’t really do it for me, reminds me of cheapish Eastern European beers. Some sugary extract-like tastes. Not bad, but not great at all. Tolerable, especially for the 1.99 price tag.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Dunkelweizen, let alone a "new" one. It’s probably because too few American breweries turn them out. (Not extreme or experimental enough.) Anywho - poured into a hefeweizen glass (natch), this presents a light golden brown body with a Tall, Dense head... which means it may be some time before I get an aroma or taste. As the head slowly collapses, the beer gives off scents of very ripe bananas, a little caramel, and a slight mineral touch. The flavor is dominated by the banana (with a hint of the peel) followed by dark bread with a light caramel coating. The finish is lightly sweet with a subdued earthy bitterness. Nice.

50cl bottle, not from source bb07/2014. Pours mauve-brown with soapy head. Yeasty aromas of ripe pear, apple, banana, clove and bubblegum dilute into thinner taste on quaffable mouthfeel. Late hop tingle. Fair.

From a bottle poured in a novelty beer glass. Pours cloudy caramel with a thick head. Flavor is slightly nutty but lacks that roasted touches that one expects from a dunkelweiss. Watery finish. Very quaffable but that’s not really what I’m looking for in this style.

500 mL bottle. Pours a turbid, caramel-brown with a big frothy off-white head, insane retention and wicked lacing. Nose is cloves, mineral, malt, slightly metallic. Mouth is cloves, banana, bready malts, some lemon zest, light apple cider notes. Medium bodied but kinda watery at the finish though. Not a bad dunkel, I could easily down several of these.

0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Hazy chestnut brown color. Sweetish aroma with tart fruitiness, vanilla, pepper and clove. Taste of clove, nuts and tart fruits with apple. Medium body. Good weizen, dark malts and weizen flavors in good balance.
