Hefig-herber Geruch, dunkel. Start süßlich und hefig, malzig. Mitte hebt hefig an, Malz, Frucht, zieht bis in den Abgang. Hier schließt das Bier bitter ab. Gut.

Pour is a ugly looking murky brown with a large white head. Aroma is a yeasty ester with some bubblegum and banana in there. Flavor is an ok dark wheat malt but not much ore after that. Watery and not much flavor. Maybe if this did not look like sewer water this would get a better score.

500ml bottle. Creamy, thick, unfiltered deep pumpkin orange. Massive white head. The aroma doesn’t really do it for me, reminds me of cheapish Eastern European beers. Some sugary extract-like tastes. Not bad, but not great at all. Tolerable, especially for the 1.99 price tag.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Dunkelweizen, let alone a "new" one. It’s probably because too few American breweries turn them out. (Not extreme or experimental enough.) Anywho - poured into a hefeweizen glass (natch), this presents a light golden brown body with a Tall, Dense head... which means it may be some time before I get an aroma or taste. As the head slowly collapses, the beer gives off scents of very ripe bananas, a little caramel, and a slight mineral touch. The flavor is dominated by the banana (with a hint of the peel) followed by dark bread with a light caramel coating. The finish is lightly sweet with a subdued earthy bitterness. Nice.
