Tap. Pours light hazy gold with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is wheat malt, citrus, light banana, and earthy hops. Flavor is malty, citrus, lightly sour, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation.

Countbeer (1933) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 20, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2012 Bottle: Hazy lighter orange colored beer with a medium and slowly disappearing white head. The aroma is a mix of stingy hay and grains some wheat, fruit, orange, lime and lemon and some hoppy herbs. Taste is an ok mix of wheat and yeasty fruits, lemon and light orange, some hops, grass, low to medium bitterness, light hint of malts and a light sweet touch. I think this was an ok beer back then.

A friend working in Alpirsbacher for a few weeks brought this back for me. From what he said the beers from this brewery are all the people of the town drink, unless they go somewhere else. The aroma is subtle but has notes of clove and malt. The beer pours a gold color with some yeast clouding and a fluffy white head. The taste has some notes of banana and clove but minimum depth. A slight malt sweetness is present. The beer is very smooth and this bottle had somewhat low carbonation. Could have been disturbed during the flight back. Good, but not the best hefeweizen available.

Ho profondo rispetto di questo birrificio della foresta nera, e dunque vi dico che questa hefe è più che discreta.

Draught at Löwen Poste, Alpirsbach
Hazy deep blond color. Light aroma of wheat, apples and dirty water. Light wheat flavor, some paper, light residual sweetness and very low bitterness. The final is also a bit astringent. Poor.

Bottle 50cl, a cloudy yellow amber beer with good head. Nose is weizen like, and very perfumed on banana side. Aroma is properly malted, good body and fruity notes such as clove, not too creamy but a well done hefeweizen.

500 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.
Hazy pale yellow colour with big creamy white head. Caramel, banana, wheat, clove and some spices in aroma. Flavour is quite mild with notes of banana, mild hops, malt, wheat, fruit and sulphur. Not bad.

50cl bottle from the Doemens stash. hazy blond color topped by a large head with good retention. Lots of banana, clove, and a touch of diacetyl in the aroma. Full and fruity flavor with a funky butter aspect as well. Soft body. The diacetyl isn’t serving this one well.
