3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 mcdav2154 (394) - - DEC 23, 2011
Got this at a getranke markt in Bitburg. ABV is 5.7, not 5.2. Light gold body. Small white head. Moderate lacing. Aroma of hay and citrus with notes of barnyard. Taste light malt on the front with a tangy citrus hop bite on the back. Overall good balance. Fresh tasting and not too watery on the palate.

Clear golden color (märzen?), steady white head. Ryeish, grassy, not very fresh. Medium-bodied. Sweet malty, grassy hoppyness, harsh, not very fresh hops. Short finish. No way Märzen, perhaps Oktoberfest.

500 ml bottle picked up at the local Rewe. Pours the normal gold color with the soft white head expected of a Marzen. Aroma is dust, malt and sticky grains. Taste is sweet surpy malt with some citrus. Palate is smooth but ends tart for a Marzen.
