Bottle: Pale golden coloured, big rocky white head, lacing and slowly collapsing; cardboard, sweet malt (a little worty) and grassy bitterness in the nose; dry bitter flavour, light bodied; finishes with an almost tart, grassy bitterness. Not good, a typical attenuated "slim" - an euphemism for "empty" - German Pilsener.......

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 asheft (2072) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 29, 2007
[bottle (in Alsfeld)]
Fresh, sharp noble hops followed by crisp malt. Clear, light gold with lacy foam that does not last too long on top of the beer. The flavour is pretty much typical German pils. No real flaws--on the bitter, hoppy side, but not extraordinary. Sort of a cross between Veltins and Jever. Very fresh and clean.

(bottle, from pivnizub) This one is very close to Alsfelder Rathaus Pilsner. Same appearance, malt-accented aroma and taste with quite dense herbal hops. Light bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Clean, a bit bland but still drinkable.
