2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The beer looks good. The beer has an amber color. The beer has a cloudiness typical for a beer of this type. On top of the beer, a normal layer of white rough foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses, leaving a minimal drape. The smell of the beer is quite rich. I smell some fruity foo aromas, containing a lovely fruity sweetness. There are also some malty sweet touches. The hop aromas also give a certain bitterness. The taste is a bit less than the smell. The bitterness is a bit to strong and out of balance. Especially in the finish the bitterness lasts a little long. A pity after the good smell. The taste could use some refinement. But it is still nice. However, you need to be into bitter beers. Luckily I am.

Bernsteinfarben trüb mit hellem Schaum. Das Bier schmeckt frisch, malzig, brotig etwas karamellig, aber auch etwas säuerlich. Durchaus trinkbares Kellerbier.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, from old notes. Hazy gold, thin short lived white head and moderate condition. Gentle malty sweetness in the nose with some muted yeast notes, soft and sweet in the mouth with delicate grain, some yeastiness and a low hop bitterness. Finish is subdued, with a gentle sweet yeastiness lingering.

Bottle shared on the train from Nuremberg to Freising during day 3 of the Bamberg Jolly of January 2015. Pours clear yellow-gold with a white froth topping. So so overall. Sugary sweet, with some pale bread, minimal bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Doughy white bread on the finish, and little else. Meh.
