COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Hella” is a NorCal thing, and when used, is a sure tip-off that you are from Northern California. A classic “West Coast” Double IPA; clean malt flavor, hop flavor forward, without all the bitterness. Hella hops are used throughout the process to bring you intense floral, citrus, and tropical notes. Smooth and clean, not bitter!

Tried on draft. Hoppy but not bitter. Strong double IPA. Clean taste. Not very citrusy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft pour at Hop and Hound. Huge thanks to these guys for creating an opportunity for someone like myself to help out in raising funds for the heartbreaking fire next door that claimed many small businesses. Bothell will rebuild, and be better than ever thanks to great people like yourselves. Pours a golden orange color with a thin oily head. Big time grassy hop aroma. Flavor is bitter hop headlined, nutty thought with the lingering bitterness. A citrus peel late. Why do I always get extra bitterness in the double IPAs that advertise to be easy on it? I find it hard to believe that I’m wrong every single time. Oh well. Late tropical fruit palate. Flavor comes out stronger as it sat. Overall an impressive IIPA here.

Tap. Pours clear golden orange, medium beige head, creamy, nice lacing. Aroma is light, cannabis, melon. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter, potty. Resinous. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. I sense a theme here, but this one ends up solid

Draft at EBP. Pours a hazy medium orange amber with a dense and creamy off-white head. Big piney grapefruity nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Light caramel base, pine and grapefruit on the mid palate. Very clean and clear flavors throughout. Dry finish that still manages to carry bright notes. Not sure if this is a great batch or if this is always this good, but it’s a nice one.

Clear orange pour with a small white head and light, spotty lacing. Strong hops and booze aroma. Grapefruit and pine. Drinks on the bitter side, with some booziness to the finish of the flavor and the feel. Drinks fairly full.

On tap at the brewery, Aroma is big dank, weed / onion, hop resin. Hazed orange coloured pour with a lasting off white cream head. Flavour is semi sweet, mlats, some caramel, sticky resinous, hop, dank, weed, pine. Palate is sweet, sticky, medium full bodied, moderate to high carbonation. Assertive clean hoppy bitterness.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours amber/gold with a white head. Aroma of floral/spicy/fruity hop. Med body. Flavor is floral/spicy, with some mixed fruits. Probably with citrus. It’s not dank, but it has something rather similar. It’s really tasty, and finishes towards bitter, but not very. Never noticed any heat.

Should be called Hella Boozy, clearish copper color with small white head. Notes are booze, sweet malt, agressive hops, and residual sugar. Glad that I just tried a sample of this booze Bomb ipa. Let’s keep it under 8 folks.
