it has a very definite flavors of strong malts and liquorice like flavors. hops are very minor. I do enjoy this one.

Sep 23, 2008 Swing top bottle courtesy of mcbackus. Pours a clear deep reddish brown with a 2 finger creamy beige head. Nose is super sweet. Ripe dark fruits, brown sugar and molasses. Taste is prunes, raisins, burnt caramel and a light hop finish followed by more sugar. Medium mouth feel. Not bad, just a tad on the sweet side for me. Thanks Matt!

Sep 14, 2008 deep brown with thick beige head, it has caramel aroma with hint of caramel. the flavor is chocolatey and fruity, highly drinkable.

Aug 11, 2008 Pour is dark ruddy brown with a dense tan head...smell is toasty and sweet with pumpernickel and molasses....taste is sweet and toasty with lots of dried bread and a strange salty and sour flavor coming up in the end...

Aug 2, 2008 (GERMANY) Pours a dark brown / amber color with a dissipating med-tan head. This doppelbock has a caramel, citrus, and prunes aroma. The taste is of molasses, brown sugar, and caramel !!! The mouthfeel is sweet, and there is a slight alcohol warmth, followed up by a dry finish.

Jun 23, 2008 Pours mahogany into a stem glass Offwhite head quickly recedes leaving no lacing. Sweet dark caramel and black currants upfront with a lasting slightly smokey sweet finish.
