Pours a dark brown with some reddish hues and a tan head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel and bread. Flavor is malty with a galance between caramel and some roastedness.

Aug 2, 2008 (GERMANY) Pours a dark brown / amber color with a dissipating med-tan head. This doppelbock has a caramel, citrus, and prunes aroma. The taste is of molasses, brown sugar, and caramel !!! The mouthfeel is sweet, and there is a slight alcohol warmth, followed up by a dry finish.

Jun 23, 2008 Pours mahogany into a stem glass Offwhite head quickly recedes leaving no lacing. Sweet dark caramel and black currants upfront with a lasting slightly smokey sweet finish.

Jun 15, 2008 pours black from what i remember with a tan head, i got mostly chocolate malt in the aroma and flavor as well, this is just average for a doppelbock.

May 26, 2008 Pours a five+ finger almost tan head that fades quickly and leaves some lace. Deep mahogany almost black color. Light-medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Malty nose. Flavor is sweet fruity with slight fruity/chocolate finish. $4.70 for a 500ml flip-top bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.
