3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 edpeg (679) - Berlin, - MAY 29, 2012Swing top 0,5l bottel.
Pours pale yellow clear body with white creamy lacing head. Aromas are floral hops, malts, berries, fruits, plums. Palate is medium bodied little slick and crispy. Carbonation is soft and lively, mouthfeel smooth. Taste is little sour, or astrigent, dry and has decent mild hoppy flavours. Aftertaste is malty, fruity and finishes is medium long hops end. Refreshing, fruity lager, with nice aromatic hoppy edge. Good beer and quite drinkable.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Marko (3614) - Split, CROATIA - JAN 22, 2013
Ah, the last beer of the pub crawl, at the apparently legendary Bolschoi in Marburg, a very specific place to say the least. Didn’t expect to find anything rateable, but to my surprise, this popped up. Golden body I guess. Light crappy herbal/vegetable aroma. Turns out to by an ordinary lager, dry, somewhat husky, with some vague hopiness in the aftertaste. The hopiness IS slightly more interesting than the norm, vaguely fruity for a second, so it might be just a touch more interesting than the usual golden dross that’s served around. Yay for that.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Shaney (1735) - Köln / Cologne, GERMANY - DEC 30, 2012
#147

Another lager. Not really ’Hopfig Herb’ I would say. But well..

Flip-top bottle from Edeka, pours yellow gold with an initially foamy then settling tight white head and a grassy-hoppy aroma with light malt undertones. Initially crisp and hoppy on the tongue, then malt, a little biscuit and faint touches of popcorn and lemon coming through, followed by a dry-bitter, slightly acrid finish. A nice example of a classic German Pilsner.
