3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - MAY 27, 2005
I’m not sure when this brewery went out of business, but this is still sold in stores here in Portland. Pours a nice clear copper with a small white head. This beer had a bit of oxidation in it, but not too badly. Aroma has a honey/caramel sweetness, with some fruity esters. This was very watery on the palate, which kinda tricks you since the oxidation gave it a sweeter smell making you think it should be a bit thicker. This brew was still drinkable, but on its last legs.

Deep amber in color with a loose frothy head. Aroma of dark caramel, raisen, some coffee, a little soap. Rich and malty in flavor with some spiciness and dark fruit. Fast finish. A little watery. A little oxidized. Not bad but not worth $5.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ClarkVV (3579) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 3, 2005
Had the old, blue labeled, "Jubel" version, bottle at Julios Spring Beer Fest, 4/2/05. Copper-reddish body, with some fiery reddish-orange hues and some light mahogany browns and a good sized, yellow beige head, slight retention. Aroma of sweet caramel and lightly sour yeast, with honey, herbs and light spices (cinnamon and anise). A profound earthy/grainy/breadiness as well. Malted wheat, sweet candied orange, thick, medium body, with not much wateriness. Earthiness on the finish, with plenty of dry breadiness and light alcohol warmth.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 badgerben (4253) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - FEB 5, 2005
Cloudy brown color with a medium head. Grainy and wheat filled aroma. The flavor is full of rich malts and more wheat with some spice. Damn, I thought this was really quite good!
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 ChrisPants (317) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 2, 2005
Blue label swing-top. Malty aroma, middling head retention, watery palate. Flavors somewhat metallic, leaning toward aluminum citrus. Not offensive, but not a big winner for me.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JasonG (776) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - JAN 20, 2005
The bottle I had was a painted ceramic pint jug, with the phrase "happy easter" in several languages on it. It said "jubelfest" on it, but apparrently it is an alias for this brew (even though the pictures look totally different). If i’ve got the wrong listing, beermail me and I’ll change it.
Ruby red color, slightly cloudy, smallish tan head. Aroma is malty, sweet, lots of caramel. Flavor is malty, slightly smokey, with caramel, honey, noticable carbonation. A little darker and richer than some of the altbiers that I have had in the past.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 jfm (1725) - Holbæk, DENMARK - JAN 7, 2005
Deep amber color with a slight off white head. The taste is sweet and malty but it has a slight ugly roasted and dry pattern.
