dm9831 (706), Monee, USA Mar 2, 2008 poured watery yellow with no head. mostly air in the nose, perhaps the liitlest trace of medicinal alcohol. the flavor had a trace of alcohol and hops, but was too weak to really imprint anything on me. worth tasting, but the sweetish overtones were off-putting to me.
CanIHave4Beers (245), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 13, 2008 Pours a very pale color with a thick fluffy white head. It looks like a good pilsner, however tastes quite differently. The beer has a defined sweet malt aroma of bread dough and a little bit of wet hops. The texture is delightful, very thick but creamy. The flavor is slightly more dry than sweet with a nice malt character. Glouglouburp (2113), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 2, 2008 In short: A standard pale bock lager, average for the Maibock (unofficial) style.
How: Bottle, 500ml swing-top, consumed fresh a few days after purchase
The look: Clear golden body topped by a medium white head
In long: Mostly typical classic Maibock flavours. Juicy citrusy bready and caramelized body. A bit doughy. Some cooked vegetables but not really bothersome. Boiled eggs (I get that from certain lagers, I’m the only one). Good mouthfeel. Nice thirst-quencher but overall a pretty standard offering for the genre. A little Maibock with nothing special. Notamünster Maibock.
SuperDave70 (929), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Sep 12, 2008 Pours a clear gold color with a foamy white head. Aroma is sweet light fruit and malt. Flavor is a bit better, with the fruit and malt sweetness, as well as a touch of hoppy spice. Medium mouthfeel. Nothing too extraordinary going on here, but a good all around brew. fonefan (5547), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 3, 2008 Bottle 50cl, sving top @ home.
Clear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, finish is light pepper - alcohol burn. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (230608) sneagrams3 (1464), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Aug 31, 2008 Tasted 8/3/08. 500ml swing top bottle. Hazy with a golden hue. Trace white head. Grainy nose with a touch sweet breads. Light to medium bodied with mild effervescence. Touch toasty with a slight hop presence. Crisp body with a touch tingle. Slight bitterness.
