3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On the label it is called both a doppelbock and a malt liquor, and Ratebeer calls it a dunkel. There is a nice winter scene on the label. Light, sweet malty aroma. Malt dominates the taste, with coffee, cola, and dry hops. This has both sweetness and bitterness, and they are in balance. Pretty light body. Good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
While shopping today I stumbled across this year’s first winter beer. It is the 8th of October, we have 22°C outside and the sun is shining - Good heavens, is it already winter? Anyway, the beer looks god, dark brown colour with a mlarge and creamy beige head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, pleasantly malty with lots of flavours going on: roasted malt, caramel and dried fruit. Balanced of with a decent amount of aromatic and bitter hops. Much better than expected, I actually liked this, although it is too early in the year. Hopefully there won’t be any Easter specials in December...

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Tastes strong and malty, a little bit too constant, finish somehow boring. An average beer!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Munich Airport.
Lovely 50 cl swingtop bottle.
Nutty, malty crisp, easy drinking. Grains/cereals. It is ultimately too short and too sweet.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the swing top bottle this poured a nice rich amber-brown with a fat tan head and very rich lacing. Nose of fruits and roasted malts. Moderate mouthfeel. Flavors of malts and hops, with some sweetness. Slightly bitter finish.
